My boy Hercules could use some good TCS vibes. He's going in tomorrow to have most of his teeth pulled. It may end up being all of them, depending on what the vet finds when he gets in there. The last visit he couldn't even get Hercules' mouth open wide enough to see all his teeth.
We've been fighting stomatitis/gingivitis/chronic herpes for the last year or more. A year ago he weighed 15.5#. Last week he was barely over 10#. He's FIV negative, FeLV negative, no parasites, no other medical issues that the vet can find. The problem seems to be that his mouth is so sore he just can't eat. He loves dry food, but he stopped eating it altogether several months ago. I try to give him extra wet food, but that doesn't work well, either. It seems like every once in a while a piece of food will catch a sore in his mouth and he yelps and runs away from the food. Then he just sits there and cries because he's so hungry.
Pulling his teeth won't necessarily help with the sores caused by the herpes, but hopefully it will clear up the gingivitis enough so he can eat again. I also hope he's strong enough to handle the anesthesia. That's the part that worries me most right now.
