My 9 year old female cat is very tiny. I want her to gain some weight, but she just stares at wet food! This bounces past my know how as an autistic cat lover. I have many I saved, and yes dry is accessible 24/7 because I can't give a little because I was crippled by a neurosurgeon 4 years ago, can't stand, and I'm not supposed to lift over 10 lb. (Like I won't pick up the bigger cats due to someone else's mistake,)
Here's the problem, she doesn't eat much dry either! However she is notorious for eating bread! If you don't put a new loaf up in the pantry when it enters the house, she'll find it, rip it open, and bite at least 5 slices. I'm about to lose my mind trying, all the others will go to the door when I feed my 18 year old male wet in a private room! He is old and has trouble eating dry. 2 years back this little cat and her 2 litter mate brothers pestered the heck out of my mom, which is weird, but 2 weeks later she felt ill and went to the doctor, and had a BAD kidney infection, like, he would've hospitalized her if I didn't need her or if it got worse. I added the 2 incidents together and told her those 3 sensed she was sick, probably from an early onset and were trying to tell us! Its like she can't add hungry and food together like she did serious illness and warning. Don't get me wrong, I love all my kitties, but if I slap my forehead much more I'm going to get a bruise and/or brain damage. Any ideas would be great help to my nerves.

Well, some cats, like some people, are just tiny :dk:. There might be nothing to do in this situation.

But keep trying to find a canned food she likes, maybe Fancy Feast (the kitten kind has more calories/fat, "classics" are higher in fat and protein than the gravy kinds)---most cats love Fancy Feast. Try a bunch of different flavors and brands until you find her favorite. And maybe switch to a higher calorie dry food. What brands/types/flavors are you feeding now?

Bad news, that's the EXACT one I tried before I did the post. I know cats can be small, but weight wise I think she needs to gain a little bit. Her nickname is actually Kitten, because she is small and has a squeaky little meow.

She would break into the cabinets too, but we now have them bungeed and baby locked. Fortunately they'retall or they could get past security. The others would break in to explore, or grab a packet of tuna. (They can smell it even though they aren't opened!)
