We rescued a pregnant, abandoned girl. She delivered 3 kittens just over 5 weeks ago. Mama is nursing less (I imagine those little teeth hurt) and our vet tech said to start them on some soft food. 1 of the kittens took to the watery mush right away, and is now eating canned kitten food without any water being added. The other 2 want nothing to do with it. I have syringe fed them a little to introduce the taste and put a little on the outside of their mouths (gently) for them to lick off, but still no interest. All 3 kittens drink water from a dish. I need some suggestions to get these guys eating independently. I do not plan to adopt them out until they are about 9 weeks old. Mama will be spayed before she is rehomed.

I recently went through this and worried as well. They will eat, when they are hungry enough. Mine didn't all start when I offered it. And even though I put out nice, soft food for them, they preferred the kitten kibble Mom was eating.
