Tinkerbell's Story: My boyfriend is a traveling electrician& we moved to Niagara Falls. Well a few months later a cat was dropped off at his job site around 2 am in the morning. Tinkerbell was cared for at his job site for a couple weeks before we decided to take her home. He loved going into work and seeing her. Instantly she was very attached to him. Well now we have had her for almost 2 months. Due to her throwing up a lot we took her to the vet. We found out she had a heart murmur my poor baby :( but she will be fine and she is pregnant the vet says she has anywhere between 1-2.5 weeks left.

Tinkerbell's symptoms:

-Large dark pink nipple (they were white before)

-Throwing up

-Weight gain (especially when we put her on kitten food)

-Eating constantly ( about a bowl of food a day)

-Sleeping constantly

-White flakes on her teets

-Now she is licking/cleaning herself

-She used to let me pet her belly but does not anymore

-She can't quite seem the get comfy before she goes to sleep, its her awhile of moving around to finally rest.

What did the vet said about the heart murmur, AND her pregnancy and oncoming delivery?

I understand he said the murmur isnt necessary dangerous by itself, with correct care, but adding preg+delivery??

Good luck!

Yeah I'd be concerned to.

Make sure you have the vet's phone number handy when she starts delivering, and know where the nearest e-vet is in case problems develop.

And definitely make arrangements for someone (you hopefully) to be there when she is delivering.

The vet said she should be fine, but that I need to be there when she delivers just in case and I have the number and the vet is right down the street literally. I also have her confined to one room and when I am not here my boyfriend checks on her. Which we are the only two people she is close with. But thanks guys ! I will defiantly keep you posted on how it goes :)

Yeah seeing them start to kick is totally normal. Soon it will look like a scene from the movie Aliens!

As a general rule once you start to see/feel them moving around you are about two weeks away from delivery. Use this time to put together a nesting box and get your birthing kit all ready. This link is a great place to start: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/80724/all-about-pregnancy-labor-delivery-in-cats but also look back through old threads. You can find answers to questions you didn't even know you had!

Vibes that she has a healthy pregnancy and a safe delivery in spite of her heart murmur!

I wanted to drop in and say thank you SO much for taking her in and rescuing her and her unborn kittens. I hope for a smooth delivery with healthy babies. Have you thought about what the plan will be for the kittens? It is never too early to begin that process of planning for the babies and for Tinkerbell as far as getting them all fixed. But, first off........... :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for a healthy and safe birthing of the kittens.

Thank you ! I am so happy my boyfriend brought her home, she is the most loving cat in the world& She is my bestfriend/princess . She sleeps on the bed with us and in the morning she walks up to me and puts her nose on my face to wake me up. Every time I go into my bedroom she jumps on the bed to be pet. I absolutely love her. We are going to keep one of the kittens. Tinkerbell and the kitten we choose to keep will be spayed as soon as we can.  The other kittens will be going to good homes, to people we trust and we will make sure the rest of the kittens are spayed by there new owners. Also we are going to tell each person if there is ever a reason they can not take care of the kittens or do not want them at any point in time even if its years from now they can bring them back to us and we will make arrangements then.
