Not sure where else to put this tbh... Someone has taken it upon themselves to take my cats collar off her and put a new one on... When I took that collar off they put a new one on and she came back with a shaved side so I'm assuming she's been neutered (she'd already been neutered 11 years ago...) I'm thinking they've probably had her chipped too...

So I put a tag on her with her name and my dad's phone number... They just took the tag off... Clearly this is getting malicious now... They know it's someone elses cat but they're operating on her and putting new collars on her... Can't find out who it is I don't know what to do now.

I would either try to follow her to see where she goes, or keep her inside. The only good thing is that they must be trying to do the right thing by her, so at least they won't hurt her. Mabe you could attach a little 'capsule' with a message inside to her collar? It would bug me too if someone was messing with my cat, good luck!

Keep her inside.  If you let her out she will obviously just return to the other people.  You could follow her too.

I've tried keeping her in but my dad doesn't like it because she gets irate and starts scratching the wallpaper. I've just ordered one of those capsules off the internet and i'll put it on a collar when it gets here with a note in. I was considering lying to them and saying she had special dietary requirements/needed medication in her food so that them feeding her would be detrimental to her...

If you keep putting her out, she will continue to go there.  They are obviously feeding and caring for her.  Even if you ask them to stop, your cat will still continue to go there.  How will you prevent her without keeping her inside?  You could ask them to stop feeding her, but I am sure she will while and cry for their attention.  I think I would really want to find out what type of medical care your cat received or did they shave her on their own?

Good Luck.

I hope they will call me if I put another note in. If not I might go knocking round the doors.

Wow....that is amazing that they would keep doing it like that!!

I actually had a cat stolen a few years ago.  My roommate and I ran a small boarding/grooming kennel for several years (until the recession hit and people quit traveling).  We had a great Munchkin cat who hung out in the kennel during the day.  A pet food salesman stopped to talk to my roommate one day, and was quite entranced by Rocky.   He was petting him and making a big fuss over him.  The phone rang, and he told my roommate to go ahead and grab it, and he would run out to his van and get her some samples.  When she came back from answering the phone....he was gone....and so was our cat.  He picked up the business card he had given her so that we had no way of contacting him or reporting him.

Holy crap.  What is wrong with people.  That is so sad that he stole your cat.

There is a cat in the neighborhood behind mine that has 4-5 different homes.  My brother lives there and it was the cat next door to him.  This cat would come spend every day with my brother.  He would go upstairs and sleep in their Master bedroom then leave in the evening.  If my brother wasn't home, he had other homes he frequented as well.  My brother got a dog a few years ago and the cat was afraid of her so he stopped coming inside, but found others neighbors to take him in during the day.  Then out of the blue, this spring, the cat started coming inside my brothers again.  One time he snuck in unnoticed and they found him upstairs in their bedroom.  Of course everyone knew where the cats true owner lived and everyone was happy having a piece of this wonderful cat.

Going around knocking on doors or putting up fliers would be a really good idea.  Maybe other neighbors have seen your cat will know where to find her.

What concerns me most, is that a vet did surgery on your cat again, without realize it had already been neutered.  What kind of vet isn't able to tell that a cat has been fixed?

Very puzzling.

If it's a female, there often is no way of knowing till they open her up.  Today, many vets are choosing to tatoo the belly of cats/dogs that will let a vet know the animal has been spayed/neutered.

Hopefully this will all turn out well for you.
