I don't feed my 1 1/2 year old female any dry food. She gets all canned food and i do add a teaspoon of water to her food each time i feed her which is about 3 to 4 times a day.

My concern is if she is getting enough water. I don't see her drinking water out of her bowl and i don't know how e to get her to drink.

Any advice?

Between the canned food and added water, she's getting liquids. Do you have a fountain? That might encourage her to drink some. Also, I read on TCS that cats don't like their water bowls and food bowls near one another. They apparently think the food (prey) may contaminate their water. I moved my fountains away from their food bowls and was amazed at how much more they drank.

My cat Pushy is fed almost exclusively wet (he gets a few kibbles to chase as treats) and we hardly ever see him drinking. We also add a teaspoon of water to each spoonful of wet he gets, and I believe he's getting enough liquid that way.

That's plenty of water for her. If she's eating 6 ounces of wet food a day, at 75% moisture that's 4.5 ounces of water. . .plus 3-4 more teaspoons, that's another half-ounce or so.

ahhhh.  I do have her water bowl near her food bowl.  I'll move it.

Fountain.  What kind do you have?  Or what kind do you recommend?  She LOVES playing in water so maybe a fountain would intice her to drink from the fountain. :)

Fountains work great! One that has a stream of water they can lick from is the most used by my cats. There are several different kinds at different prices on Amazon, I just ordered a stainless steel one last week.

I have the Pioneer Pet stainless steel fountains. I am thinking of changing to the ceramic ones. Stainless steel is a pain to keep clean :) The fountains themselves work great. None of my cats have ever played in them, for which I am very grateful. I wash them every week. Every three weeks, I replace the filters and clean the motors.

I also recycle the filters (I replace the carbon in them and wash the liners), so that saves a little money and landfill space.
