I just brought home 2 ten year old cats they have been in a basement for 3 years tormented and terrified by a pitbull.  I have one where I know where it is but her brother is missing.  I can't find him anywhere! Can any one help with advice on how to find him? I am sure he hasn't gotten outside we would have seen a big black ball of fur walking by us.  He was last seen by the back door cowering by the dryer then vanished.  We Have searched everywhere in the trailer but we still can't find him! Any advice on how to find him would be great! He is part siamese doesn't like treats yowls when terrifed normally except this time he is silent completely we think hes been out going by the other 2 cats reactions to the litter box but not positive we are ready to try anything at this point because he has been for 2 days now :(

Just keep putting food out, if he's there he will eventually come out! Do you have kids or anyone else that came in and could be too scared to tell you they let the cat out? Cats are amazing in their ability to hide, he could be up inside your bedsprings, up inside the couch or chair, or squeezed behind something that looks too small. I would take one room at a time and look EVERYWHERE. He could be behind the furnace, behind something in the closet, under teh sink, etc. PLEASE keep us posted, I want to know where you find him. Don't give up, and bless you for taking in these poor lost souls. You might want to change that one's name to Houdini!

that little booger i finally found him apparently he snuck out last night and found where his sister was hiding  his sister is so massively overweight that he can hide behind her without anyone else seeing him but atleast he has been found after 3 days of hunting for him where we can actually get to him now.  I still want to know where he was hiddng for the last 2 days now that hes under the couch with his sister.....

Thank goodness! I'm so happy you found him! Now you can work on making them less afraid. Be prepared it can take a good long time, especially with these two older babies! Once again, thank you for taking them in.

AW Bless you for saving those cats from that awful situation. You are wonderful. So glad that you found him and that he was not really lost! They are lucky to have you. It does take so much time for these emotionally scarred kitties to come around. Give them time, love and much patience without expectation. I think you will someday have two very loving (and grateful) cats. :hugs:
