Her daily food is blue buffalo wilderness dry food she is one of the picky eater for wet food so i just give her a table spoon a day to see if she eats it but i dont' give her much wet food and she likes felidae but i give her a small table spoon maybe half since she needs to get use to it but appearently everytime i do that she will get diarreah and i finally found a wet food she likes but she usually eats blue wilderness buffalo chicken no grain i don't know what is really causing it really cause she rarely gets wet and it can't be the food she is eating :\ i don't know if she is starting to get at the age where she is having digestive issues. my vet gave her this liquad stuff and i have pro pectalin still but i hate pro pectalin even though it works a bit i don't like to use it everday as it stomps her up i give it to her up to day 3 then stop casue i dn't see s tools from her at all then 2 days later diarrhea again. I really need something effective I heard about fortiflora but my vet doesn't carry it and there is another vet who does but i have to pay for another fee for her to check her up i hate wasting so much money its breaking me cause i'm seeing vet and medicine and quality food.

I don't understand why you say it can't be the food that is causing this?  I most definitely CAN be the food.

When you were asked what you are feeding her, I'm not quite sure you actually answered.  At least, I can't tell from your answer EXACTLY what you are feeding her.

Can you tell us if you are feeding her any kibble, what brand, what flavor, how much?

If you are feeding her any canned food, what brand, what flavor, how much?

Do you realize that Fortiflora is a probiotic, however, it is a single strain, and is made with what some of is refer to as "icky" ingredients.  The human brand that I referred you to above is FAR SUPERIOR to FortiFlora in many of our minds (not just mine
)  The one advantage to Fortiflora is that many cats LOVE the taste of it and will readily eat it, whereas the one I reference above has no taste at all, so needs to be mixed into wet food.  Now, I have one cat who detests Fortiflora and will not touch any food that has been sprinkled with it.  BTW, you can order it on Amazon if you want, and I  DO always keep a box on hand, because it is commonly called Kitty Crack, since it can be addictive to cats.  Some of us use it as a topper for a finicky eater

OK, here's my final question for this go round...what EXACTLY was she eating before all this started (using the same format as above...if kibble, list brand, flavor, how much, etc.)

i don't know really because in december she had purina one but i switch her gradually when one of my cats had urine trouble and i wanted high quality food but she was picky so i been feeding her blue buffalo wilderness chicken grain free but she hadnt had diarrhea on that. i fed her fancy feast about 4 weeks ago i think i wanted my mom to feed her while i was gone and she likes fancy feast and it is convient since my mom doesn't have to mess with the other can cause she doesnt' kno what to do since there are left overs. but i stopped then I gave her felidae but she was ok on it for 3 days but i don't know what is causing it really anymore. she is fine on blue buffalo dry food. I don't know what cause the first one but she is off and on gets them every week now  :\ and i give her the medicine and pro pectalin since the vet said its ok and its frustrating really so I don't know what is the actual cause i kept her in my room for a week to be sure so its either felidae or she has problems.

and another thing her diarrhea smells like my dead hamster when  i had a hamster that died it really rots :(

As stated before, I think I'd just return her to the dry till all the diarrhea has stopped for awhile, and let her stomach and bowels settle down. You did finally get her to the vet?

yeah got her to the vet but she did got diarrhea from fancy feast it was wet food though i don't know relaly if it did do it to her i don't know if she has digestive issues the vet just felt her tummy ran a few test she has no parasites or anything. he thinks its from changing her food but she was still eating her dry with a bit of wet.  they think she has bad bacteria in her but it shouldn't last this long even after medicine i'm hoping to know if there are something so i can ask the vet if there is anything don't know if they have propoabitics *spelling*

mrsgreenjeens gave you a link for the probiotic of choice for a lot of members here. It's on amazon, so you can buy it on line. No need to return to a vet to order it. It's safe. there are no risks.

WHAT did she eat before. Before the wet food, before she started having the diarrhea. This has not been answered yet.

Did she ever get diarrhea on the Blue Buffalo only?

Did they suspect early onset of IBS?   Does she have frequent hairballs and/or vomiting (these would suggest early IBS).   You could try very bland food for awhile. Hill's Hypoallergenic is fairly bland and commonly used for cats who have IBS.

Does your vet suspect IBD? IBD cannot be cured. It can be managed, sometimes with diet alone, sometime with diet and medications like prednisolone, either short or long term. It's hard to say. The first thing I would do is get her off dry food. She may be helped by a novel protein diet. A raw diet has also been known to help many cats with IBD. Please check out www.ibdkitties.net for a lot of good info.

thing is i don't know about raw diet or have no clue and i dont' wnat to mess with it and afraid of bacteria and she is a picky picky cat its hard to feed her she only likes one certian food i have tried since feb :\ i tried to give her a wet diet but no matter what she sticks up her nose even if i dont' feed her half the day she still won't touch it so i have to feed her dry so she won't starve herself. I have tough luck she won't eat much wet but don't know if it had casue her ibd. If i knew how to do a raw diet i could i even search and read about it it still hard all those supplements and everything not unless there are supplements already pre mix but i don't trust those sites to order i only trust amazon, chewy if i knew supplements pre mix and what kind of meat and i have no grinder either  if i try it and she doesn't eat it i wouldn't know :(

You don't have to feed raw, but I really urge you get the dry food out of her diet. Dry food is not good in general but especially not good for an IBD kitty. Yes, it can be hard to transition kibble addicts. It is going to take patience and diligence on your part, but it can be done. There are many tips that can help, both here and the www.catinfo.org site. Also, I would encourage you to check out the www.ibdkitties.net site as well.

well today my cat diarrhea again i did went to the vet on a friday morning for xray and he saw alot of gas and gave me fortiflora but i'm wondering how do really know without expensive test if he needs a biotopsy to see whats going on the inside that is about 1500 dollars no money for that not even on my carecredit since it only approved me of 1k but used 185. does anybody know if fortiflora will work? is it bad if she likes to lick the fortiflora by itself? sometimes i feel like when sprinking it on food she won't eat it all even if i give her a little bit. she still has a medicine for ibd if she has it but no idea for sure. anybdoy know test beside the antibacteria medicine he gave me, and he found out for parasites, then gave me medicne to see if it works for potentional ibd then he saw gas this is like 4 test i don't know what kind of test to get that isn't expensive. I love my cat but if its over 1k i wouldn't know what to do.

Fortiflora is not a good probiotic. It has animal digest (the same stuff sprayed on dry food to make it tasty) which is why she likes the flavor and will lick it. It is often used as a topper for dry food addicts. If you want a suggestion for a good probiotic, this is the one that a lot of us on this site use.

A lot of people with cats with suspected IBD do not get the biopsy done (both for cost and because it's surgery and a tough thing to put a cat through). Most vets will diagnose based on symptoms and ruling out other likely causes. Generally, prednisolone is the standard treatment for IBD. Is that the medicine for IBD that your vet gave you? If she responds well to that, then you can pretty much bet that it is IBD. You really don't need to do further tests. You treat the symptoms, and the first thing is good nutritional management. Getting off dry and onto good wet food is the start.

I have no idea how antibiotics and parasites are in the picture. This would be unrelated to the IBD.

I rather not use probioatic meant for humans even though i'm sure others has used it, but i don't think its ibd/ibs because her pills are almost over and doesn't help don't know how long fortiflora will suppose to work but i'm thinking it has to do with wet food i gave her alot that day and my cat had diarrheah that almost felt like it lasted 3-5 hours gave her a few licks today her stool was mushy. I'm thinking she may not tolerate wet food at all but i feel like she needs some wetness in her. but she does drink water very well.  I'm probably going to stick to dry food and not give her wet food for a week to see how it goes. if this still happens i like to try raw food but i don't know how to make raw food, i rsearch but i still suckat understanding i have a capability of not understanding well

I like to buy already made raw but its expensive and i don't think they sell most stuff online only at stores.

if anybody can give me links to making my own recipes that are safe for cats i would like to try it.
