well i know that she was being fancy feast while i was  away the wet food when she was taken care of when i was gone for about 2 days and 1/2 and now i come back and she has diarrhea loose stools and i gotten woken up by it. Luckily i have  the stuff that harden her stool from last time. I'm wondering should i stop feeding her fancy feast :\  that happen the last time it was classic version. She won't eat much healthy wet food though so i'm going to stop with fancy feast next time i am gone. she was also trying to go on the floor 1 minute ago after i was typing this so i'm watching her and loosing sleep. I don't know what else i can do at this time and won't be able to go to the vet til tommarow as i have a busy schedule this morning. she doesn't seem in pain i'll be calling  the vet though.

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand.  You were away 2 1/2 days and while you were gone someone fed her Fancy Feast Classics and now she has diarrhea?

What do you usually feed her?  How long have you been back, and did you start feeding her her normal food as soon as you returned?  What else might have she eaten while you were gone?   What are you giving her to harden her stool "from last time"?  Does this mean she is prone to diarrhea, since you already have something on hand?

well my mom founddry  fancy feast and wanted to give them some but i had blue buffalo so i don't know but i did told her to just give fancy feast wet food. It has cleared up but now its starting back up again but this time it was from evo beef wet food. I'm thinking wet food is starting to give her bad diarreah atm i can't afford the vet til next friday so i'm in a dilemma i am broke right now wish i knew what to do but she is playful and everything. Is there a way to stop her diarreah? should is top giving her wet food? all i gave her was 1tablespoon today. It's really irritating cause of the mess i don't know if can pumpkin will help

Canned pumpkin (not pie filling) is helpful for diarrhea. Could you provide a little more info? How old is she? What is her normal diet, both dry and wet? How long has she had diarrhea? What other stuff have you given her to harden her stool?

i have this stuff pro petaclin from her first diarrhea attack, she is about almost 6 years old, her normal diet is dry food blue buffalo i often give her wet food but now wet food is giving her diarrhea even the health kind. She had Evo (a little) she loves Felidae wet food, she had fancy feast but i will not feed her anymore of that. lastt ime i gave her pro petaclin i didn't see her stool til today. so it's worrysome. I don't know if i should stop giving her wet in general but it may be hard as my other cat diet is wet.  dont' know why my other cat is not effective.

Pro pectalin's first ingredient is kaolin, which is clay, so I can see how that's used as a stool hardener, but it seems a bit harsh. I would be much more comfortable using canned pumpkin which has been used safely by many members here.

As to the cause of the diarrhea, why do you think it's the wet food? Generally, you can switch wet foods without dietary upset.

Well, if she was fine on the Blue Buffalo, I would try to stabilize her on that and the pumpkin and then slowly re-introduce wet food again.

Just make sure she's not dehydrated from the diarrhea. Do the scruff test and make sure she has plenty of fresh water and is drinking from it.

Yes, it can be added to the wet food. Again, be sure it's pumpkin puree, and not pie filling.
The fiber in the pumpkin will absorb the water in your pet's digestive system which will help make the stools firmer. I don't think it is used for cats or dogs for anything other then constipation or diarrhea, I don't know for sure, but I think it can help with indigestion and upset tummy's too.

My cat has diarrhea tendencies and when I took him to the vet and gave him the prescribed anti-diarrheal medication it made his diarrhea so much worse! So I gave him Instinct raw chicken and it seemed to help at first but later he got diarrhea again, so now I feed hm Instinct raw rabbit with canned pumpkin added and it works great for him. You might want to experiment and give your cat raw meat first without any canned pumpkin to see if that'll solve the problem. If that's not enough then add some canned pumpkin to see how that goes.

i dont' want to deal with raw meat at all casue its to much time consuming and my other cat has diarreah now :\ is this contagious?? what can i do for her? pumpkin doesn't work either on my other cat but thankfully i got her medicine they said it was bacertia or something but i don't know what is giving them that? it was from the wet food too but i don't know which one. i got nature's variety  and evo i did bought evo can food way before that recall thing though like in jan. wish i knew what is the cause i'm clueless and she is really annoyed she is the one that has seizures and i'm afraid this will make her have a seizure when she panics.

You definitely need to check all the food you have in your house to see if it's on the recall lists, especially if it's older food.  Very important.  If it is, or you think it was possibly on the recall list, you probably should at least call your Vet and let them know you might have fed it to your other cat that now has diarrhea and see what they advise.

Are you giving your cats probiotics?  It helps keep GOOD bacterial in the intestines.  I give all of my cats one probiotic capsule daily, mixed into their food.  They get the same one that I take myself

Raw food isn't time consuming for me cuz I just buy Instinct frozen rabbit, it's in small 1 oz. medallions. I just thaw it in the fridge for 24 hours, then I put what I need in the microwave including some canned pumpkin for a few seconds just to take away the coldness, that's it!

I did totally forget all about probiotics, sorry! I get FortiFlora from my vet. It's a powder form in little packets, really works for emergencies!!!  The raw food + canned pumpkin is what I use daily for diarrhea prevention, but since your cat is currently having diarrhea, get a box of FortiFlora right away!

As far as probiotics on an ongoing basis, this is what I feed myself and my cats:  .  As you might be able to tell, I get them on Amazon

She still has diarrhea i rather not use human probiotics i rather be safe then sorry are there other things  i can do for her? I wish i knew why she is having this problem I may have to stop giving her wet food now even though she has a favorite seems her digestive system is out of whack. if anybody knows other options if i can buy it online or if i should see a new vet but for all i know  they may say the same thing.
