Does anybody know of a dry food that is easier for an older cat to chew? My cat has a hard time chewing Purina Cat Chow and a lot of times just swallows it. She can chew the Temptations snacks easier. They are soft in the middle. I like to put some hard food at the bottom of her bowl, then canned on top. I think it's important that she eats some dry food so her teeth stay useful.

Dry food is not actually better for teeth. I would feed her all wet if you can. Wet is a lot better for cats than dry for many reasons. If you are interested in why, catinfo.org is a great cat nutrition and health site written by a DVM.

Hello and welcome to TCS.

That dry food is good for a cats teeth is a myth, but don't feel bad, so many have been told this is true even by some vets. Putting her on an all wet diet would be much healthier for her and cause her less pain to eat. Reading the site vball91 sited http://www.catinfo.org/ will help you understand better the why of  wet vs dry.
