My neutered male cat has a hard on! And paws me and any furry blankets

Hi, my male cat of 3 years has suddenly started behaving weird. He was neutered 2 years back and has been fine ever since.

Off late, he seems to be losing weight a bit and seeks a lot of attention. Plus he paws on soft blankets and even on my tummy.. Climbing up and then kicking backwards with his legs as if he were on top of a female cat. When he gets off he has an erection and ends up having to lick it ...

He has never been with a female.

Any ideas on what is happening and what I should do?

Well, the sexual behaviors are fairly normal, cats do masturbate sometimes. . .BUT, losing weight for no known reason is a big warning sign! He should see the vet for a checkup as soon as you can get in. Also, if he's licking his private parts a lot, it could be a sign of urinary problems. Definitely let the vet know everything that's going on.

Agree with Willowy: ANY change in behavior is a warning to the owner that something is up. It could be anything from I'm more comfortable with you so that's why I don't hang around you as much to a UTI about to happen. And what is normal in one cat may not be normal in another (Ritz is skittish by nature; Twiddledee wasn't afraid of anything.)
