Can you help me identify these two kittens?

A friend has these two wonders up for adoption:

I am a huge fan of Way of Cats system of "labeling" cats into three different categories - Alphas, Betas, Gammas - a system of which I learned from this very site... so I know many of you are knowledgeable when it comes to it. :)

I was wondering if you have any guesses as to what types these two lovelies would be. I'm not looking to adopt a third cat (or so I keep telling myself), but in the meantime I'm still awfully curious. :)

It is impossible to tell what personality they have from just a picture. It takes personal observation of each kitten/cat.

I agree. Some may consider it a playful pastime, but in the end it's nothing but guesses. If you read the article there carefully, you'll notice she uses "I guess", which is really what she's doing. For one thing, kittens move a lot and I'm sure you could take a picture of that basket 3 minutes later, with a very different layout.

It is possible to try and assess a cat's mood by facial expressions and body posture. However, without knowing the circumstances in which the picture was taken, that doesn't tell us much about the kitten's actual personality. Looking at the picture in your post, I can say with absolute confidence they are very very cute kittens
They also seem at least somewhat concerned about the  camera, maybe even apprehensive. It doesn't mean they're shy cats or "scaredy cats", only that they're most likely not blind and deaf, and react to stimuli around them.

I started this post saying labeling cats like this may be considered a playful pastime, but you need to be careful of stereotyping a kitten based on it. Expectations can affect our behavior and this in turn can affect the kitten.

Last, but not least, if these kittens were born to your friend's cat, please please please urge your friend to get the cat spayed before she gets pregnant again. Thank you!

Haha, on that we can very much agree!

Alrighty, I get what you're saying. She's basically just guessing and I should refrain from doing so. Good point.

Unfortunately, there are way many people here who fear that spaying their cat before having her first litter is going to hurt the cat in some way... or that neutering/spaying them is a bad thing. You have no idea how many times I have had to hear this argument when I fixed my girl. I am doing my best to spread the good rumors, but you know...
