I'll post pics later but have a quick question.

So, Princess is a stray that started to hang around someone's house. (they were feeding her) They made it sound like she was very pregnant and due any day.

I was really surprised when I went to pick her up because she seemed so tiny. (her belly) She really looked barely pregnant. (especially compared to Lucy)

So, she was pretty freaked out when I first brought her home and I left her to chill for a few hours. I just went in and spent some time with her and she came out of her hiding place, had some stretches and checked out her room.

Here's the kicker...she has milk! Quit a bit of it...

I can easily palpate the kittens hard heads and bodies. I can't feel anything on Lucy..she just bloated feeling.

So..I'm assuming she is quite far along but just thin herself and maybe a small litter...

I don't think I've ever had a queen get milk until labor is eminent. My question is ..how far along are they usually when milk comes in?

She hasn't ate since she was surrendered. (10 hrs) She shows no interest but is fairly content. She has layed down and purred. She just had a huge pee and poop. There was quite a bit of blood mixed in with her stool.

She was treated with Revolution today. I'll see if she'll eat some wet food...

Wow she is GORGEOUS. I've read that milk can come in anywhere from a few days before to a few hours after birth. With all of the pregnant mamas i've had the milk came in about an hour or so after. Good luck to you, mama, and babies!!!

She looks so nice :) when my cat was pregnant, milk didn't confer out until the day she had them. I was getting worried she wouldn't produce any milk.

Well...that might be it. I knew she was tiny and prob would not have many but.. holy..I was hoping for at least two so they could play with each other.

I can't feel any more in her and no movement.

He's 4.4oz or 125g. She is content and I still can't feel anymore..going to bed as it's almost 3am. I hope to wake to one more but..I doubt it.

Well, I've named him Pax. He's doing well and is of course eating well! He's exactly 3 days old and is already 6.8 oz!!  (193g)

Momma is very attentive. He loves being scratched on his belly and will roll around making sure I get all his itchy spots! Love him already :)

Update: I have a problem...

So, they are both doing pretty well. I've renamed the kitten, Panda. He's a chubby chubby boy being a singleton.

The problem...mom is over grooming him...badly. It started off behind the ears and a patch on his back.

I've tried bitter apple and momma doesn't care. He's going to have no fur left on his back at this rate.

I am 95% sure it is over grooming because I moved them into my office and I see her doing it. She's obsessive.

On that note, I am going to contact the shelter on Monday to see if they would like him to see a vet ...just in case.

Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas on how to stop it??

Can someone knit him a sweater with a hood and send it to me? :)

Gosh, is that weird or what?  I actually know absolutely nothing about new(ish) kittens and their mother's issues, but saw you hadn't gotten any responses, so thought I would bump this up.  Mama looks like a kitten herself.  did anyone ever guess at her age?  Wonder if that could have anything to do with it
