Hello, I'm new here.  Does anyone use liquid Cisipride and Miralax?  Miralax worked well for a while but my cat recently started to get constipated again.  The vet has added Cisipride.  I would love to know what works for your cats!  Thanks!

Ritz hasn't had too many problems with constipation, but when she did I decreased bone or increased kidney (I fed raw).

I'm heard pumpkin mixed with wet food helps a lot.

Which brings me to my questions:  what are you feeding your cat and do you know why is he constipated?  For example, some medications can cause constipation; a cat being fed exclusively dry food can also cause constipation unless--and not even then sometimes--he drinks a lot of water.

Hi Kaga, and welcome to the forum!

The single, most important "thing" that works.........is the food intake.

Exactly what is your cat eating?

The vet couldn't tell me why Lastings has this problem.  I did take away his dry food, but have to give him about 2 or 3 Temptations treats a day to bribe him into the right position for me to give the Cisapride.  He doesn't drink water so I add a little to his wet food (Friskies, any fish flavor).  I think adding the Cisapride has helped move things along quicker.  But he definitely needs the Miralax to keep the stool soft.  It's been a good couple of weeks so far.
