I would love if someone would give me pointers. My cat is 13 years old prob 14. first off is he has been eating but not gaining any weight. he ran away two times. the first time he was under are house  for two weeks when we finally got him out and in to the house we found a tick. we go it off of him and he seem fine. well maybe a few months later he was puking up foam for three days stright. After that he was fine but still not gaining any weight just gettig skinnyer. the seound time he ran away for 9 days we just got him back on sunday the 14. All i know is that he got in a fight with another cat but no cuts that we know of. Well he has been acting so werid lately not him self. he has been crying for two days straight now. Its more of off and on, he has been sleeping in his litter pans and having diarrhea. he has not been him self at all. I just want to know what is wrong with him and i dont have any money right now to take him to the vets yet.

I'm so sorry your cat isn't doing well, but there is really no way we can tell you what is wrong with him without actually examining him, even if we WERE qualified veterinarians, which we aren't.  As far as the eating and not gaining weight, that could be something related to his thyroid, but it takes a blood test to determine that.

As far as the diarrhea goes, since he was outside, he could have, and probably did, eat something that didn't agree with him.  You might try feeding him chicken and rice for a couple of day to see if it goes away, if you don't take him to the Vet.  Just boil up a chicken breast in plain water, then while it's cooling, cook some white rice in the chicken water, then shred the chicken and mix them together and feed him a little bit at a time.  You can do this for a few days even though it is not nutritionally complete.  It should stop any diarrhea if it is caused by food problems.

No online advice can replace direct veterinary intervention. If you suspect that your cat may be ill, please contact your vet immediately. You are welcome to look for advice in the health forum while waiting for that appointment, but never delay proper veterinary care waiting for Internet advice. Remember that cats, and especially kittens, are very adept in keeping pain to themselves and delaying treatment may cause irreversible damage.

That being said, sometimes members find themselves short of cash with a sick pet. Please take a look at this excellent article that contains advice on how you may be able to afford that trip to the vet, even if you think you can't:

When You Can't Afford a Veterinarian
