What you see on tv is hard to recreate unless your store runs the same way.

Getting cases of product in just for you

Doing 30 orders or what not if coupon states limit of say 2-4 coupons per trip

The stores policy-by me it is 4 per person.  Some times the store will let you do multiple orders one time and not the nexst(It happened to me)

If they give cash back if coupon exceeds the price of item.

I do make out well with pet sales/black friday but petsmart is way cooler about multiple orders! Petco in my limited experience too.

If people were getting hundreds of dollars of "real" food on that show I would be impressed. Like chicken, milk and fruit and veggies. They are always getting something like 50 packs of tic-tacs for free and are storing them in their shower because they don't have anymore room.

I watch the show and which I could come out with 500.00 dollars of food and personal items for under 5.00 or free. I don't think I would have the patience to do it without help from one of those ladies on TV.

I do have some coupons everyweek and it does help.

I agree to this alot.  That and the fact you have to rotate the stock or finish it fast enough.  Garbage is not frugal.   Throwing out expired food is a concern for the hoarder types on the show.

The ones who get to donate(even if it is crappy stuff at times) get my respect.  If you rely on food banks getting a soda or some junk food item may be your highlight after working so hard all week.  In end they are doing alot of work to sort coupons and go shopping and store the items.

I use alot of coupons but for the fresh items almost all of us need to eat more of the coupons are very limited.  I use ONLY coupons to get body care and cleaning products.

I think it'd be fun to try, but we only have safeway and two other grocery stores and a supre walmart, Kmart and Target.

So I think it might be difficult to do here

Target offers some nice coupons and they have thsoe buy 2 of these get x dollars back deals I LOVE!  a Target coupon cann be used witha  manufactures one.  So if say litter is on sale and target has coupon go online and try to find a manufactures to match it with and you get some nice savings.  I love target is it usually very calm even if there are alot of people.

Ditto.  They buy foods that they wouldn't normally buy, and much of it is canned or processed, or fast heat and serve frozen.

In Canada there is no such thing as "extreme couponing" because stores here do not allow you to get cash credit for coupons.  Coupons have no cash value, and where I live there is no such thing as double coupons.

As well, if you do a google search, you will find that many of those extreme couponers know how to cheat the system by using coupons for one thing to buy something entirely different.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

And i agree with it being calmer when busy than other places.

Do you know of any companies that email coupons that dont have to be printed off?

I'd like to just show the coupon from my phone

SO TRUE.  Accident happen.  but going in knowing you are cheating is horrible.  At some point they may stop issuing coupons if they keep getting cheated.  Or store will stop accepting them

This is so true. I don't even bother looking at coupons, unless it is a "save $5 if you spend $100" type of thing. There aren't coupons for many of the items I buy.

It's sad. For the most part there only seem to be coupons for processed junk.  Whole Foods has a flyer with some coupons for healthy stuff. I do use those.

I agree with this, and yikes on that last part.

We don't have Whole Foods in Canada
but there are some healthy-type stores that carry this coupon booklet: http://thehealthyshopper.ca. It's stll not for fresh produce or meats, but has coupons for good products like organic oils, soy sauce, yogurt, frozen fruit, peanut butter, Eden foods, vitamins, tea, juices, dish soap, etc. all stuff we use, even though I cook from scratch every day.

I just never remember to bring them, I can remember the bags but not coupons.

I think if a person has to store stuff in the shower they must be going a little overboard with the couponing LOL.

I have to clip them with my gocery list or I don't remember either

I use coupons but don't "extreme" coupon at all.  I think it's selfish to shelf clear.  I try to stick to clipping only for things we actually use.  Or sometimes to get something as more of a treat for us.

I'm more interested in seeing what how much I save rather than how much I can get

I have watched the show a couple of times but I don't really get it as being practical.  I hear some of them saying their going to get a months worth of groceries for some rediculous small amount.  All I seem them getting is paper products, personal care products, candy, soda and vitamin water.  I see a lot of them getting vitamin water which is just flavored sugar water with vitamins added.  If people actually live off of what they get with extreme couponing they will spend more than what they save on health care bills.
