Just joined!

I found this page looking for a loss of cat support group. I'm a "new" cat person-I never owned, or really liked cats until a little over a year ago, when a little black cat came to my back porch and wouldn't leave! I let her in because it was cold outside. She had no collar and no microchip, and I posted her picture all over my neighborhood with no one claiming her. I called every shelter, and no one had received a call about a missing black cat, and there was no room for her at our local no-kill shelter. We never planned to keep her, but while shopping at PetSmart for food for her, we saw a handsome Russian Blue that we had to adopt at their shelter...and within 2 days, we went from having no pets to having 2 cats! Sadly, after 14 wonderful months with us, Grey Goose, my Russian Blue passed away 6 weeks ago. My little black stray, Jackie, is still with us, and not so little anymore! And I adopted a cute little bobtail tabby 2 weeks ago and named him Noodles. I now volunteer at the shelter where I found Grey Goose. I wish it hadn't taken me 29 years to fall in love with cats, but I will never have another day without the love of a cat!
