I want to mix kitten milk sometimes with my kitten food

He is 6 months old

Will he benefit from it?

I'm not sure why you want to do that? At 6 months, I think he would benefit most from a high animal protein/low carb diet.

I saw your post on raw feeding and responded. Are you trying to come up with a new diet for him? What are you feeding him now?

I have NO idea, how, it works with pure domestics. But, I do not think, it, could be too harmful. However, I would ask a licensed veterinarian, if, you are very concerned.

My F3 Savannah, took a bottle of a milk matrix formula (http://www.jefferspet.com/milk-matrix/camid/liv/cp/0034050/) for his whole life (a little less then three years, died of cancer). He still ate: whole live prey twice a day and had Evo dry food accessible 24/7.

My F1 Bengal, lived for around fourteen years (I got her from a breeder, when, she was about three years old) and took two bottles a day of the above formula. She would only eat/could digest whole prey items. I just fed her live prey items.

Last, but not least, was, my Pure male Serval. I was his fifth and final owner. He was given a VERY poor diet prior to me getting him (Friskies canned food). I finally got him onto whole prey. However, for a long while, he ate Evo canned with the above formula on it. Plus, to keep us "bonded" (servals, normally only bond once to a human/family) I gave him two human sized baby bottles of the above formula.

Please note, the exotic cat hybrids, where given a domestic cat sized bottle(s) (http://www.petco.com/product/3252/Petco-Nursing-Kit-for-Kittens.aspx) worth of the milk formula daily.

Just regular kitten milk (like Whiskas, etc.), or do you mean kitten formula? If he's undernourished, formula might help. If he's healthy, there's probably no more benefit in it than there would be in you stirring baby formula into your coffee :lol3:.

If you mean something like Whiskas cat milk, that's probably best served alone, not mixed with his food. it's meant as a treat, not a lot of nutritional value.

Agree, unless he is nutrition deficient the formula milk is not meant for a teenaged cat, it will also cause a bit of diarrhea.

Yeah he doesn't need kitten milk. That is for babies that are being weaned or orphaned. He doesn't need it in his diet now.

Okay, now, I have a question, I hope you all do NOT mind. Why, is it not okay, to give a kitten formula to an adult cat? I just went back threw my records and saw, that, I let my three domestics, have, some of the Zoological Milk Matrix. I have NO IDEA, how much they actually consumed. But, I do know, that, they
it
. I do not remember, them, having any loose stools. Though, only one of my domestics, was, a completely indoor cat (by her own choosing). So, maybe, I would not have noticed the loose stools
? I can tell you, that, the one indoor domestic, did not have any stool issues. Anyway, what makes kmr (that, is the only domestic milk replace, that, I am aware of) so different from Zoological Milk Matrix?

I do not intend, to foster any domestics. But, is it possible, that, I could use the Zoological Milk Matrix on domestics? I ask, because, I could get so much MORE of it. So, it would come out cheaper by the ounce. I can't find the kmr ingredients website
. But, this is the one, for, the Zoological Milk Matrix: http://www.drugs.com/vet/zoologic-milk-matrix-30-55.html.

I don't think it's bad, exactly. I mean, Ensure, Boost, etc. are basically baby formula marketed for adults. But it's expensive, and not necessary for healthy adults or older kittens, so there's not much point in continuing. And the ingredients are icky. . .BHA, corn syrup, some brands even have ethoxyquin. Not something I would want to continue for longer than necessary.
