Looks like I'm going to be a great-aunt again....sometime today or tonight! The baby is on his way!

My sister was on her way to Pittsburgh for a conference, got the phone call, and headed for Philadelphia instead. She's been on her way to the hospital (it's her daughter who's having the baby), but she's not sure she's going to make it in time. My BIL just left our house now. I baked a batch of Snickerdoodles this afternoon for my niece (her favorite cookie) and he stopped by the house to pick them up. She knows the snickerdoodles are coming; she told her dad not to forget to stop here for them. So my niece will not be doodle-less when she has her baby.

We know it's a boy and we know his name; we just didn't think he'd be here this soon....she was due May 8th. Her blood pressure got pretty high, though, so it's a good thing that he's decided to make an early appearance.

And, of course, Rick and I are thrilled to be a great-aunt and great-uncle again!

Congratulations!!  How exciting!!

That's actually what happened to me with both my kids and both came a few weeks early.  Everything worked out fine for us; but man was I shocked with DD's early arrival.  I wasn't ready.  I was washing her bedding and clothing while in labor!  The bassinet wasn't even put together!  For DS,DH had to pack my hospital bag over the phone because I was already there!
Needless to say; no more babies for me.  At least we aren't planning any more!

I hope she has an "easy," uneventful delivery!!  And I hope your sister makes it on time!

Thanks!

Unfortunately, he still has not decided to join the party. We are anxiously awaiting him!

That happened to me too, but I was only 28 weeks when I went into the hospital and baby stayed put for 10 more days.

Congrats :)

It actually happened to me, too. During the last two months I carried our son, I was down. On the couch, in the bed. Down. Doctor told me that if I didn't stay down, he was admitting me to hospital. Down, with my feet propped up. My BP has always been a pain.

I stayed down as much as I could, but it wasn't easy.

His name is Vincenzo....they are very Italian and I think it's his paternal grandfather's name. We haven't made it down to visit yet, but she is sending us lots of pictures. The baby is just darling! Thanks!
