ARGH!!!!!!!!! One more day of this!!!! :smash: We have had a very talented and nice installer/carpenter here the last three days working on the kitchen mosaic backsplash. It is really beautiful and I think his work is really meticulous. BUT THE WHISTLING!!!!!!!!!! :freak: I get so annoyed by people who whistle. It just really gets under my skin. So for about 8 hours a day for the last three days it has been nonstop whistling and I mean constant. :slant: :cringe: He is coming back this morning to finish up the grouting. We also hired him to install the wood floor in our bedroom and out in the hallway and that was before I knew about the whistling. He is so good at his work that I will be able to put up with it. After today's job is done, I will need a break for at least a month before I can tolerate another four - five days of his whistling.

What gets under your skin and annoys you to no end? Any other whistle loather's out there?? :lol3:

:lol3: Good one! That doesn't bother me. I used to work in an office years ago and my boss did that all day long. I bet you would have to quit over that one OR try to get a job change within the office. CLICK, CLICK, CLICK

Mouth noises. Like chewing, crunching, etc. My husband knows my "look" when he is eating too noisily! Poor him!
:flail: That drives Larry absolutely bonkers. His father is the same way. I had to learn pretty quickly to never make smacking noises and eat with a closed mouth. When we go to a movie we have to sit in the back row or he won't stay to see the movie. He can't stand the popcorn chewing in the theatre. I DO know that look, too. :lol3:

Gum smacking! There was a lady who I used to work with that did that constantlyyyyy. Even if she didn't have gum in her mouth she'd make that noise.

People just showing up at my front door. It makes me crazy. The dogs bark, the cats run and it causes general bedlam around here. There is supposed to be absolutely no soliciting around here but now and the a few will sneak in and start banging on doors. I hate that.

Yep....that. Makes my crazy. Rick doesn't do it very often, but sometimes.......

And depending on the mood I'm in, I have to even walk away from the cats who are crunching and slurping their way through dinner. And they certainly can't help it!

One of my co-workers is like that, too. I love the guy dearly, but it's not pretty. Chewing, crunching, slurping...all of it. He has regular plates and bowls for his lunch and I think he digs to China to get every last drop of soup sometimes. I don't think he realizes what it sounds like as he's usually watching a movie or tv program on his computer over lunch and he wears earbuds.

Then again, I'm an ice-chewer and I'm sure that doesn't sound very pretty to my co-workers either. I guess it evens out in the long run.

When people yawn and don't cover their mouth, I think that is disgusting.  When you're alone in your house that's different but never in front of others.  Even when I'm driving, I cover my mouth if I yawn...in case somebody is watching.  I know that sounds nuts but it's become a habit.

Same here!!!  Husbands family thinks you "enjoy the taste better" by eating with mouth open and smacking lips".  HUH?  Ok if you are alone knock yourself out.

I also hate the whining dogs do sometimes.

I get headaches easily enough.  I often use earplugs.

I'm with you on the whistling! My husband forgets sometimes and gets the look. He doesn't understand why I hate it so much. I don't either but I just know it makes my skin crawl and I can feel my blood pressure rise. I used to have a customer at a retirement apartments and I could hear him whistling from across the complex. I always had his mail separated and ready to hand to him so he could leave right away, not wait around whistling. Arrrggghhh!

I used to work with a girl that sighed ALL the time. Like every 5 minutes! Big, loud sighs like she lost her best friend.
Drove me nuts.

Both the LOUD yawns and the LOUD sighs get to both me and Larry. When people yawn loudly and with their mouth open I can't help but scowl and cover my nose and mouth for fear of germs. :lol3: Larry used to have to take the train to and from work and complained constantly about loud yawners. Still, I will take that over whistling on any day, that is, IF I had to prioritize my pet peeves. ;)

I guess I could make a list of things I hate, but I'm menopausal and A LOT bugs me right now. The top two that have always bugged me are; smacking when eating and people just showing up without calling first. Then they have the nerve to say' we drove out to your house and you weren't there!' Like I have nothing better to do then wait around for them, or I meet them at the door with a paintbrush in my hand  and they stay! I like my cats a lot better then most people!
