I'm not sure that there is a "resilient" breed. Even if there was and you got a cat of that breed, there is no guarantee of long term good health since each cat is unique. While genetics is a factor, I don't think there's any way to predict unless you know of problems with it's parents/siblings.

The only thing you can realistically do is provide your cat with a good species appropriate diet, regular vet care, lots of play and love and an enriching environment with as few stresses as possible.

The only thing I have heard or read is that Persians are prone to polycystic kidney disease.  Getting one from a reputable breeder negates that problem.   It really is luck of the draw.  I have two rescues.  One has IBD which we have been dealing with since he was 18 months old.  It's one of those things that can only be controlled not cured.  My other one has had more than her share of dental problems.  They are both almost 10 years old and the one with IBD hasn't even needed a dental yet.

That is a fun question Foxtail! So I did a little research. One thing to keep in mind are genetics. I don't care what breed of cat it is; if it is genetically prone to disease there are odds of the cat coming down with something. That said, I did find this article. Here is an excerpt and the link.

http://www.petmd.com/cat/breeds/c_ct_american_wirehair#.UWoiespMeI8

The Wirehair does not have any inherent genetic problems. Through careful breeding, a strong and vigorous hybrid has come to the fore, making the Wirehair resistant to disease, and one of the healthiest and easiest to care for domestic cats. There are however, grooming details that must be kept. Because the hair inside the ears are coarse and curly, the ears may have wax buildup, although regularly cleaning should prevent any clogging problems in the ear canals.
