I have a six year old cat, who had been having trouble eating recently, and showed signs of having a sore mouth. Upon taking her to the vet, we discovered she has ulcers on her gums and all of her teeth are decaying! We've had her since she was a kitten, so we're doing some more tests to figure out what could be causing this, but ultimately, she'll need all her teeth removed, and will be on a wet food diet for the rest of her life.
What I want to know is what wet foods are best for her, to keep her healthy, and also not too expensive? Not to mention, I've never met a pickier cat in my life!
She is more open to chicken and beef, and isn't a big fan of fish, but I'm sure we'll be open to having her try lots of kinds so she can still have a variety. She won't eat dry kibble when softened with water.
Right now we've been giving her Whiskas cat milk, and Friskies Chicken dinner with gravy, and water of course, while she get's back to normal and regains strength and weight.
I will talk to the vet more about a good diet for her when we are in there with her next, but for now I'd like other people's thoughts and opinions!
