I am constantly on a search for the perfect pillow.  My right shoulder gives me quite a bit of trouble and I also usually wake up with a bad headache.  Last week, after a bit of online research, I splurged and bought a wool pillow.  It cost more than I've ever spent for a pillow, but I thought if helped, it would be more than worth it.

It is a very nice pillow.  It sleeps like a dream, and I've already noticed some improvement in my shoulder pain and headaches.  The problem is, it stinks.  Literally.  Though one reviewer described it as the fresh smell of sheep in the sun, that's not what I'm getting here.  To be polite, it smells like how I imagine a sheep's behind would smell.  Don't get me wrong; I love sheep.  I just don't want my pillow to smell like one.  Right now, it is airing out in the sun on top of a clean garbage bag on the luggage rack of the car.  I think I am going to order a pillow protector, but I don't want to just cover the smell.  I want it gone.  Is there any hope?   Gosh, I think I hear rain.  I'd better go rescue it.

Update:  It wasn't rain, it was wind.  And it blew my pillow onto the hood.  Now there are black lines on the case where it hit the wipers on the way down.  I've tried to spot clean the case with a little water.  Now, I hope it is not going to smell like wet sheep.

Oh that's quite a dilemma and I can't imagine a way to get rid of the smell, although a pillow protector probably will help a little bit.

I'm ordering the pillow protector this weekend.  The smell wasn't as bad last night...I think the hours in the sun did it some good.
