Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, thought I'd join since I'm now the mommy to a very teeny tiny baby boy.

I recently adopted/ saved/ rescued a little tiny baby kitten. He’s about 6 weeks old, and the smallest thing I’ve ever seen.

My little guy is eating wet food, some dry food, and still nursing the bottle a bit in the mornings + at night.

My question is – Is it best to leave him locked in my bathroom during the day while I’m at work? Or let him roam around my bedroom?

I feel bad locking him up but I don’t want him to feel too overwhelmed in a big room alone either.

I’ve had him for 4 days  as of today. He now knows where his litter box + water is located and runs to them when he needs them.

I have his litterbox, water, covered bed, blankets, and food in the bathroom with him, but it’s a pretty small space.

I’m just not sure what would be more comfortable for him?

Any advice would be great!

A bedroom shouldnt be too big, but proceed a couple of days with the bathroom. During the time let him discover the bedroom together with you.  After it, change into the bedroom as his safety room.

6 weeks isnt so very tiny, so he wants to move when he isnt sleeping.

Dont forget some toys in the bathroom.  And you can let on some nice music, or radio, so he dont feel alone, I mean.

Perhaps also a stuffed animal as companion.

Welcome to our Forums!

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply :)

He does have a stuffed animal in there and a couple of toys... Today is the 3rd day of him being in there, perhaps tomorrow I will try to give him some space and let him play in the bedroom. My bedroom also has a nice kitten play tower in the corner that he can play and sleep on as well.

Thanks!! Sounds like I did the right thing for the 1st couple of days.

Much appreciated.
