Hi everyone,

It's been quite a week, and it's only half over.  I was petting my 10 year old doggy, Sally on Sunday and felt a marble-sized mass on her leg.  It just felt "odd" to me so I called first thing on Monday and was at the vet's at 2:00 pm.

By 2:15, she'd been diagnosed with Mast Cell Tumor, a particularly agressive form of cancer.  She had surgery yesterday morning, and I will know soon whether the tumor was completely removed, or if I can expect it to return/spread.  The vet removed WIDE margins of tissues around the lump.

Today Sally is doing pretty well, but seems to have some post surgical dementia, similar to how elderly humans can react to surgery.  She's forgotten how to climb the stairs, and is suddenly obsessed with trying to get into the garage and ride in the car, which has never been her nature.  She was also very agitated earlier today.

If you can spare some vibes that this was a solo tumor, and that it is truly gone, I would appreciate it.  If the cancer spreads, I plan to just do "hospice care" and let her eat steak, roasted chicken and get all the car rides and sunshine she likes.  I don't want her last days to be a blur of painful vet visits.

Anyway, here is a photo of her post surgery:

Lots of
to you and the lovely Sally.

I'd suggest flower essences.

Really?  Which ones?  I do have some Rescue Remedy, but can get others! :)

I ask my naturopath to make up appropriate blends or single essences for the cats.  But I believe in the States you can buy them ready-made for different conditions.

Hi CatMom. I live in the U.S. too. Some Holistic wellness centers offer custom made flower essences.  They could help you figure out what might help Sally best. Do a search for flower essence therapy in your area.

Sally is a sweet little dog. I hope she's feeling better soon.
