So when should they start eating solid foods, and since theyre in a high walled laundry basket and cant get out on there own should i try and move them to a new box and stuff...one they can crawl out of and eat and follow mom and such. They are secluded in the upstairs room completely kitten proofed. Is this safe to do, when do they start eating and exploring more, and what other milestones should i look out for??

Have you found homes for them yet or will you keep them all?

Usually they'll start snacking on their mother's food around 4 weeks of age. But they'll still nurse for a while after that. Once you see them starting to take an interest in her food, you can offer them their own dish of mushy food.

My concern is that roxy hates wet food so if shes not showing them how to eat it they won't eat it...but i suppose they will find it appealing regardless hopefully

Also how much should the kitten gain per day again. I have a scale that weighs in grams but i need the actual number. Unfortunately dora is not producing ebough milk so her momma is having to substitute..i already have kitten replacement milk (powder form) just need a bottle. Im now anxious roxy will run into the same problem as poor dora
what scale do you have? and were did you get it can i use a regular food scale? because i need to buy one for Mikaela's kittens

I always buy kitten meat and water it down a little so they lap it up instead of chewing usually they take an interst after 4 weeks.peppas are 4 wks 2 days and wont lick the bit on my finger yet so il try again tomorrow. Until they get the taste for it
