I wish you the best luck, and hope others will fill in with advices...

As you say, the fading kittens syndrome is a cruel opponent.  Seldom much to do, the only is often to make it comfortable for them.

Are you sure they do get enough food from the moms?  Ie, do the moms have enough food for them?

The best way to know is to weigh them every day.  Use a scale weighting in gram, best electrical scale.

They dont cost much.

This wont help these dying now, but it may help these who are OK at this moment.

Welcome to our Forums!

Good luck!

Have they been to the vet? If not, how do you know that it's Fading Kitten Syndrome? To lose that many seems like something must be wrong. What kind of food do the mother cats get? How much of it do they eat? How old are they? Have the mother cats tested negative for FeLV? Are they indoors or outdoors? I do hope you can find the cause and remedy it before you lose all of them :(.

And, of course, it would best to have the mother cats spayed ASAP so this tragedy doesn't happen again.

I see you had tried to read on, as you had this excellent article in the parallell thread.

You found both this old parallell thread (probably also other threads on Fading kittens)  AND this vet article...

A good advice there was to give them some sugar on their gum. A little wet dextrose (glucose) sugar is best, but honey or white caro sugar will also work.  Probably even common kitchen sugar, but it will be slower.   It may perk them up so they have the force to take milk.

They must of course be enough warm.  You can try and massage them a little, limbs, back, tummy...

Giving them milk with a dropper is easier for them than suckling.

The drawback is they dont longer get moms milk.  Goat milk is OK, or use some good kitten mother milk replacement...  With a little luck they can drink some from mom too.

Also some pedialyte with dropper, so they dont get dehydrated.

Good luck!

A sound long term advice, but it is rather not useful here and now.   :(

Not even to mention, it cant be done JUST NOW, it will be probably done when the surviving kittens are 8 weeks +.
