My 2 yr old cat Ollie is on his 2 nd round of antibiotics for a urinary tract infection. He is acting playful and like his old self but isn't eating. Any suggestions

Sorry Ollie is not feeling well.

Antibiotics can decrease appetite; did she have decreased appetite with the first round?  Is it the same antibiotic?  Perhaps she is nauseated?  Does she lick her lips a lot?

You might want to call your vet for an appetite enhancement or anti-nausea medication.

When you say 'isn't eating':  is he eating anything?  Cats can't go too long without eating or they'll get really sick with Fatty Liver Disease, in which case syringe/force feeding is necessary.

How as the infection diagnosed? Did the vet send the urine out for culture and sensitivity testing? The reason I ask is because a true urinary tract infection is quite rare in young cats. Usually, urinary tract issues are due to something other than bacteria, like crystals or cystitis. The antibiotics may not actually be necessary.

Ollie went to the vet today. She checked his liver which was ok. She gave him treat "whisked temptations" which she said must be "cat crack" because she says all cats seem to like it. ...and Ollie ate it . She also has put him on probiotics for 4 days. She thinks the antibiotics made him quite eating. Will keep u posted. Thanks for the advise
