I know! It's been 8-9 days since her EDD began and signs started, so our anxiety is out the roof lol good news here... Dora has been groaning more tonight in bed with her twitches she gets and just woke up an hour ago and kept licking like crazy everywhere and now on her own went into my closet where I have another spot made up for her (which she didn't show too much interest in before) and is laying down in there. Crossing fingers... Can't believe I have to work in 7 hours and haven't slept. It's gonna be a long day tomorrow especially of she has them tonight :p

You need to be there to be sure there is a placenta for each kitten, to break the membranes and/or cord if the cat doesn't, and to call the vet if she is in active labour for more than 30 minutes without producing a kitten. I've also seen a friend's cat (pedigree bsh) who would deliver all over the place and not nurse until all had arrived so we put each new kitten with the others on a heat pad until she took over.

The last post was from my phone.  I forgot to mention that you need the vet's emergency number and you need to know where to go.  Here in the UK quite a few vets use an out-of-hours service so the ill-prepared can end up driving around at night with a cat in distress in a carrier trying to find somewhere they've never been before.

I made a point of checking with my own vet before my last foster, thankfully it's the vets I know at the surgery I know.

It's not usual for a cat to need help kittening but it happens, and if labour gets obstructed quick action is vital.

No kittens this morning. Really anxious at work now. I tried all week to get my shift covered for other reasons too. She ate this morning so hopefully she's able to wait til I get home tonight. No new progress

I'm going to have my grandma stop and check on her maybe twice today. Dora is familiar with my grandma, plus she's the one that has Dora's mom and brother.

my grandma checked on Dora at 11am and then my mom did at 3pm.  I actually get to leave work early at 6 so I will be able to check on her too, but have to leave again for some plans at 7.  My grandma and mom both said dora was waiting in the kitchen for them as they came in the door, meowing. They both said she seemed fine and no contractions.  My mom did make a comment how BIG her belly has gotten from the time she saw her last weekend. She also noticed how firm it was too.  :-)   I asked my grandma to see if she could look at her rear for any mucous plug or anything....she texted me "her butt is puckered and fine...can i go home now?" haha she wasnt very thrilled of having to check on my cat  ;-)

Can cats have one side of their belly drop before the other side? And if so, does that mean she was mated by 2 different males at different times?
My cat is lopsided and I figure she's having an uneven amount. Yesterday I noticed her belly dropped but today it seems lower again almost like more even now. Am I losing my mind at this point? Lol

Pic tonight. She even seems much larger from yesterday. She can't possibly be much longer, she's huge. She was such a petite cat before

I think Dora is getting to the end of stage one. I'm pretty sure I saw real contractions a couple times. She's more vocal. Kittens were moving like crazy and at one point one baby was pushed so hard against her belly I felt like I could outline the whole face. She's in and out of nest box again. Crossing fingers

Okay I am just getting caught up on all of this....

I mentioned this in your other thread 5 days ago and I think it bears repeating- if she doesn't have them tonight you need to take her to a vet. Why? Because one of two things is happening. 1) she is way overdue and needs medical attention or 2) you have misjudged the dates and you are driving yourself crazy when she still has a ways to go. Either way seeing the vet will help. I don't think she should be having discharge for this many days without labor. And, you previously mentioned it was off colored and fishy smelling. If that's still the case then it could be an indication that something is seriously wrong.

So, watch her tonight and if still nothing take her tomorrow so she can at least have an ultrasound done. They will be able to answer all of your questions in depth and ensure that everything is okay or intervene if necessary. I know you keep posting pics but belly changes are really hard to gauge in photos unless they are taken at exactly the same angle (and even then it's hard to tell unless you are there in person). I have looked at all the pictures closely and because of the different angles I can't tell any differences.

Please, err on the side of caution and put your mind at ease. Take her to the vet!

I have to agree...if she has lost her plug and it's been this long I would be concerned. The fishy smell could indicate infection and you could lose the entire litter and quite possible Dora.

Sending vibes
