My cat is around 9 weeks pregnant and I wasnt taking her temp regularly, but on Thursday I took it and it was 99.8. I have been taking it a couple times a day (under leg and adding 1 degree) and its averaging around 99.5.  I know they say cats average temps are 101...is it possible mine has a low temp and it will drop down a degree still before labor? or is she nearing labor? Because they say it once its under 100 degrees F that the cat should delivery in 24-48 hours...its been 96 hours since i noticed the temp. She has been nesting, grooming and sleeping more for 1-2 weeks. She hasnt ate at all today, she hasnt even got any water that ive noticed (which concerns me). She seems fine thought except for the discomfort. She did startle me at 6am this morning when she darted into my room and jumped on my bed, meowing, then back off, then peaked in her cat box, then went into nesting closet, then sat at window.  I thought she was going into labor....but just sleeping since. I think the last time she ate was sometime after midnight and before 6am today.I have confined her to my room today to make sure its dark and quiet. I check in about 1-2 hours and nothing.  Think this is labor? no mucous plug or discharge yet. shes still grooming herself today but cant really reach her genitals because of her size :p  shes just back to being her sleepy quiet self. Shes only 10 months old and was very very very petite prior to the pregnancy so I just worry about how well the pregnancy and labor is going to go with those factors.

*** no grief about spaying, she is getting fixed after her babies are born***

Even this falling of temp isnt 100 safe. Besides, this falling of a whole degree as measured in the armpit is in in Celcius!  It will be somewhat more in Fahrenheit.

Thus yours 99,x should surely be about 101.

I measured in the armpit on both my residents, pretending it was a new game. One had 37,3 the other 37,4 Celsius. Thus - a whole degree lower...

Good luck!
