I'm Mary Anne, in Ohio. I found this forum researching fibrosarcoma. Unbelievably, after losing my cats Diablo (16 1/2, IBD) and Millie (13, CRF) within 10 days of each other in February, my cat Hudson (almost 6) just got diagnosed with fibrosarcoma. It's not at a vaccine site. I'm trying to learn all I can before seeing a surgeon in a couple of weeks to decide if I should put Hudson through a second, more radical surgery.

I suspect his cancer is from the feline sarcoma virus, though he tested negative for feline leukemia. I'm also Mom to one of Hudson's brothers, Boone, and considering whether or not I should get pet insurance for Boone; wondering what are the chances he could develop a fibrosarcoma too, God forbid?!

Thanks for any advice you all might have; I've already learned a lot.

Mary Anne

Ask yourself, how much is insurance compared to a large vet bill?  I think you will come out with the right answer.

Welcome to TCS
Best wishes for Hudson, keep us informed about his progress.  Is that him in your avatar?

Thank you Catspaw66. Your girls look like they could be sisters to my Millie. I think her health declined so quickly after Diablo died because she missed him so much.

Yes, that is Hudson in my avatar. Thank you for the good wishes for him.

Check out my profile and album for closer pictures of the ladies.  It is not completely understood, but I believe animals grieve for the ones they lose.
