Hello,

I am new here and have a 15 y.o. Maine Coon, Phoebe (aka "Feeby"). She's been feeling pretty ill lately and has had a lot of doctor's appts. She's had cancer for a year and 10 months, defying all the odds, but her most recent chemo has stopped working. She has also been diabetic the last 4 months and is just coming out of a bad acute pancreatitis episode, her first one. So much for a kitty to go through all at once. I am assist-feeding and assist-hydrating her (via wide opening syringes). She has a heart issue so sub-Q fluids regularly would not be a good idea according to her doctors. We are hoping for a small miracle so she can be happy for now and postpone her end for a while longer or having to be PTS. She still has quality of life but it's been tough on her and us, her two-legged family. The next week will be very important to see what decisions we may need to make based upon how she does...

Thank you all for "listening" and if anyone has any words of hope and/or encouragement, or would like to communicate privately, we would appreciate it.

Feeby is purring happily right now with a full tummy and about to take a cat-nap. =^OO^=

Take care all,
FeebysMommy

Feeby sounds like a wonderful trooper to be able to go through so much and still be so happy.  I can only give you words of encouragement and sympathy for both you and her.  Here's hoping for a miracle.
