So when was the last time you went to the hairdresser and walked out with something you weren't expecting? :lol3:

I went in yesterday for a cut and highlight and came out a blonde! :flail: We've been doing highlights and lowlights in my hair and I think my hairdresser forgot about the lowlights. :flail: It's fine, I'll just make sure she puts them in next time I go, but every time I walk by a mirror I jump back in shock. :lol3:

Anyone with a similar story?

Last time I went was in November. I went for a cut and ended up with a perm!

One time I went in for a colour and ended up coming out with chunky blond streaks in my hair. It was different. Can't say that I liked it much though.  Coloured over them the next time I went for a colour.

LOL!  I'm too afraid to dye my hair!  I'm not much on upkeep with that kind of stuff so until I have enough gray to motivate me to keep it up; no dye jobs for me!  I only get my hair cut once or twice a year at the most.  What I ask for is pretty simple, long layers with more in the front.  I guess I've had less layers than I wanted before; but it wasn't enough to make me rush back for a trim thankfully!  When I was a kid my mom thought it was a good idea to give us matching hair cuts, with perms.  It was very short and it took so long to grow back!  I've never had short hair since!

My hair grows so fast, almost an inch per month, so I don't really care what the hair dresser does to my hair. I figure it will always grow out.  I frequently just sit in the chair and tell my stylist to have at it.  Hence the chunky blonde streaks!  lol

Last year in February, my hair was short like Jamie Lee Curtis, in this picture:

Now it's about this lengthy, only slightly layered.

I don't ever color my hair, or perm it. But for cutting, I just tell the hairdresser to do whatever she wants, as long as it's not too crazy. . .so I guess I expect anything! My hair also grows super fast, plus it always comes out looking the same after I wash the styling stuff out, no matter what she does to it :tongue2:.

I just had a haircut last Monday. I wear my hair short now.

The only experience I had with unexpected results is when I colored my hair to get rid of the white. It turned out too brownish so on a sunny day I was a red head. Did not go back to the salon to redye it, I just let my hair grow and trimmed it until all the brown was gone.

Going in tonight for my touch-up. The worst is usually trimming for me. My last stylist simply did not understand "TRIM"! She would trim my hair and I'd lose 2-3 inches at a time. One time she used the texturizer (didn't ask me first either) and when she was done, it was short. Really short. I don't do short hair. At all.

I really like the stylist I have now. Tonight she's going to show me an easy way to put more curl into my hair without a curling iron. Sad to say, my hair is very wavy....when it's wet, it curls and waves on its own. So I've always blown it out with the hair dryer to get rid of the curls. Well, she thinks I should just let it go and let it do its own thing. My hair length is down on my back now, so it's getting longer again. So I guess we shall see. The good news with tonight, though, is that, if I don't like it, I'll go straight home and wash it out. Rick would love me to let it curl, though, so it will be interesting.(I had it back into a pony tail the other morning as I had been on the treadmill. Rick came out to the kitchen and started touching my curls....he really likes the curls.)
