Update on Patrick

The good news is that his bun and creatine have improved a fair bit since end of July, he's actually more stable re his crf. But they are seeing a problem on his u/s (just spoke with the vet). They are getting a sample for biopsy, to see if this is lymphoma or severe ibd. I'm stunned...no way would I have suspected ibd, or any problem other than his crf.

His bloodwork did show indications he's becoming hyperthyroid ...I was hoping that would be all we'd have to deal with besides his crf. I'm scared of lymphoma and so hope it's not that. We''ll hopefully have the histopathology report back end of this week.

I'm just and praying it's ibd as I believe we can manage that, and the hyper-t and the crf. sorry for this very down post, he's just been a major loving, wonderful presence for the past 16+ years, and he reminds me so much of his mother, who was truly a guardian angel (in fur) for me and who passed away two years ago.

Sending hugs & good prayers your way. I do have to say that my cat has also been tested twice for an overactive thyroid (she has crf), but has come back with in limits both times. This weekend when I had her at the vet, this particular vet said that he would not want to treat the thyroid because it could risk lowering her blood pressure there fore causing her kidneys to function even less efficantly. This is the first I've heard of that, but it could also be due to the increase in her kidney values.
