Good day to all!! Hope you had a very nice Easter. :) We went down to see my brother, his wife and my niece. Since we moved we are a bit closer to them and the drive is just under three hours. I just LOVE roadtrips. My husband, Larry, is not fond of them except for the perks that come along with the road trips. JUNK FOOD MUNCHIES!!!!!!!!!!! :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap: :lol3: We always stop for gas right away and load up on the junk. Larry's favorite are circus peanuts, payday candy bars and corn nuts. Mine are cherry and licorice twizzlers, lemonheads, lemon drops, boston baked beans and dried fruit (have to try to add in something healthy. :lol2:) We also always add in one of our favorite sodas. Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper. The good news is that with all of that "sugar", we are full of energy and end up having a great time filled with some good laughs along the road. :D

We don't really munch on anything during road trips. Usually we take some bottled water, coffee and sandwiches with us and will at most stop and have some ice cream on a hot day.

We love road trips too! We always pack a lunch and munchies, usually not too much junk food though. I think chips and chocolate would be my favourite snacks. Oooh, and honey kruellers from Tim Hortons!

I get car sick easily.  If I am driving then its ok.  Diet coke and hot dog from this one place I pass on way to Moms.

I always get choclate twizzlers from walmart.  It is my reward for surviving a trip there.  Then I keep them in car for snacking

Roadtrip = Snickerdoodles!

I usually bake a couple kinds of cookies to take with us

Cheez-its

Pepsi and Diet Mt Dew and a few bottles of water in the cooler

Some kind of potato chips

Chocolate-covered pretzels

Roasted cashews

Peanut M & Ms

Cubes of some cheeses in the cooler

The cooler goes right behind the driver's seat and the bag of munchies goes right there, too. That way, whoever the navigator is, usually Rick in the passenger seat, can reach right back there and grab. We always have little bowls or cups with us, so that the navigator can put cookies, chips, crackers, what-have-you into the bowl and place said bowl on the driver's (usually me) lap for easier munching. The navigator is also responsible for opening the driver's soda bottle, too. When the driver has a couple swigs of soda, then the navigator has to put the cap back on the bottle.

Another job for the navigator is to have the money ready for any tolls along the way. We keep a bowl of coins in the glovebox for toll-paying.

Believe me, we've got it all down pat!

We don't go on road trips. The farthest we go is to my in laws which is about 45 minutes away and we are moving just down the street from them in 18 days. We don't really have anywhere to go and with the insane gas prices and a 7 month old who doesn't like her car seat, I'd rather stay close to home.

OH PAM... you cracked me up. :lol2: You and Rick sound just like me and Larry on roadtrips. I often love to drive because then I can just bark out requests of what I want!!!! Totally the opposite of when we are at home in the house. I think I would love a roadtrip in your car anyday especially those peanut M&Ms. Although, I love the plain the best. :D We have an Ipass because Larry drives to Chicago now. Makes tolls a breeze.

We don't normally munch, but occasionally we bring along pretzels or nuts. :)
