Happy Birthday, Brandon!!!

I always celebrated RB Banshee's birthday. For her entire life, I would take off work on September 20th and spend the day with her. By that, I mean I spent the day on the couch with her lying on me. And if she wanted to do that all day, well, that's what we did. Sometimes we'd spend the day watching DVDs from a tv series. If she got up from me, I went where she went. A couple times, when she was younger, I'd pack up all her stuff and she and I would go visit my parents.....they had Ebony, a black Cocker spaniel and Ebony and Banshee were great friends. Whatever we did that day, it was just her and me for the most part. It was her birthday.

When I interviewed for this job, one of the interviewers asked me if there was something they needed to know. And I said right out, "I will never work on September 20th. It's my cat's birthday and I will spend that day with her." There was silence. Complete silence. And then he started laughing. They hired me anyway. And that first year, on September 19th, my boss said to me, "I guess you won't be coming into work tomorrow." And I said, "That would be correct." He laughed and walked away.

She died in August four years ago. It killed me to come into work on September 20th that year. I spent that day in tears.

We celebrate all the furkids' birthdays.....they get a can of Fancy Feast that morning for their breakfast and I carry the cat and sing Happy Birthday to him or her. But I don't take off work for any of them anymore.

Happy Birthday, Brandon!

Of course cat birthdays are celebrated around here, with something special to eat and a new toy or two.

Happy birthday Brandon!

Yep I celebrate my cat's birthdays :) Neko's 5th birthday is on April 17, and Nero's 5th birthday is May 18.
Hoshi Kitty, who's with my ex, celebrated his 6th birthday on March 29. I wasn't there with him but he was on my mind!

I wish I knew when angel's birthday is.  I don't even remember or have a specific "gotcha day," because he slowly started hanging out over here,

sometime in the spring of 2008. I'd come home from work, & he'd be laying in the sun on one of my stairs, a few times a month, then more & more, until he was here every day. (never being fed by me this whole time). Then, when I eventually let him in,( & he'd be ready to go back to where ever around 10pm). Then, one night he stayed over, & that was it! After a year, & no one "claiming him,' I took him to the vet & made it official! So I just celebrate out "anniversary" in July, the month I took him to the vets.

Happy Birthday, Brandon!! :bday: :rub: :clap:

YES!!! OH goodness, do we celebrate our "kids" bdays. New kitty toys, catnip, treats and maybe a new bed. Since three of my six (and two others) are all siblings, we have extra special bdays. Actually, everyday is like a "bday" around here. :D :party4:

Absolutely! They're my little furbabies! (My Aussies were born on the same exact day, exactly one year apart, so the past two years I've gone and gotten them a doggy cake and some treats. I have no clue when my kitties were born, but I normally just pick the first day in the month I think they were born in and give them a little bit of tuna and a toy! :)

The first two pics are from their birthday this year when they turned 2 and 3 years old
This picture is from their 1st and 2nd birthday.

I don't know the month or date when any of my cats were born, just how old they were when I adopted them.  So I pick an arbitrary day during the month of their adoption and call it their birthday/"Gotcha Day".  :)
