My name is Sabrina and my best friend is my 4 year old, Maine Coone, named Riley!!!! We recently made a pretty drastic move, moving from NV to CO... Well, the biggest 1 in his life, so far! Maybe it's stress, idk? But w/n the last 3-5 days i noticed he had an open wound above his left eye... Thinking he'd just scratched it cleaning his face, i didnt really think anything of it, until it still isnt really healing! I am not sure if peroxide is safe, if it'll work, etc?! Perhaps some1 might have some advise????   Sabrina & Riley!!!!

The first thing you need to do is take him to a vet. It's a good idea to find a vet in your new location anyway.

I wouldn't use peroxide. It can clean the wound, but it can also burn and damage the tissue more if it's not diluted properly. Plus you don't want to take a chance of it getting in his eye.

Neosporin ointment is generally considered to be safe for cats, just make sure you don't get the kind that has a pain killer in it.
