I love the attention but its not his nature to be so close. It's 4 hours and he is still on my lap. It doesn't' seem normal for him to be this way for days at a time. Any comments.

I would take him in to the vet. Any sudden change in a cat's behaviour should be checked out.

Hope he's feeling better soon.
