I have a 9 month old kitten/cat about a month ago he was not pooping right and i was told(searched online) i could give him canned pumpkin. As i did he felt and started pooping better withing couple of days. After that now he seems to have gained a stomach, he eats as usual, drinks his water, and now he sleeps more. I seen tbat his stomach got larger and at first i was saying hes getting fat, and i decided to take away his food or feed him 2 a day about half a cup of Cat Choe Natural/complete/healthy weight! Now as i post tbis his stomach is still big and it feels like theirs air there sorta like a balloon!! I press not hard on his stomach and it doesnt seem to hurt him. I just went to the vet and described it they gave me a dewormer for hook and roundworms. To see if maybe he has worms or not. Has anyo d else has had a cat were it seems as if hes bloated or stomach full of air? He poops and urinates fine. If i dnt see a reduction of stomach within this weekend ill take him to the vet and hope is nothing serious?

Any advice or some sort of home remedies to maybe make him poop more. I believe he has poop stuck in their. Is tbeir a laxative i can give him? Should i hive him pumpkin? Petroleum Jelly?

It's good you have taken him to the vet and got him a de-wormer. For a distended belly worms are obviously the first thought and most likely culprit.

Canned pumpkin works well for any kind of digestive troubles so you can for sure give him more of that. You could also try giving him some Slippery Elm Bark. I have never tried it but I have heard it works well. Here is a link that another user posted with more information and dosage (scroll about halfway down): http://www.felinecrf.org/holistic_treatments.htm

You can also look through these older threads on constipation. It doesn't sound like he is but if there is a possible blockage some of these solutions may help to get him moving: http://www.thecatsite.com/newsearch?search=constipation

Finally I wouldn't cut down his food too much- it does sound like there is something going on, not that he is just gaining weight and getting a big belly. If you don't see any improvement by Monday I would go back to the vet for a recheck. Going into the weekend make sure you have the contact information for the closest after hours/ER vet. If he stops eating or drinking or becomes lethargic don't wait and get him seen as soon as you can.

Good Luck and Welcome to TCS!
