I know there is a thread under the Cat Lounge, but this is so important thought I would post here too.

So many new people on the Cat Site, some might not be aware of the dangers of Easter Lillies and other lillies to their cats.  If you have one and you have a cat, IMO, get rid of the plant.  Nothing is that pretty to risk the life of your little friends.  Cats are notorious for chewing on plants, and this one is deadly.

Give it away to a catless person, or I would just throw it out safely in a covered can so no other animals can get it.

So many Easters end sadly for many when they loose their beloved kitties.

Research every plant you bring into your house.

There is an excellent and visual section on the ASPCA website of plants that are toxic to cats http://www.aspca.org/Pet-care/poison-control/Plants?plant_toxicity=toxic-to-cats It is well worth a look

I really like Easter lilies and my favorite is the callas lily but I have given them up since I got cats.  The alter at church is always covered with lilies for Easter and for awhile after so I enjoy them there.
