I'm guessing the smell, maybe the peanut butter too.

And yeah, we all know Chocolate is a no-no for cats (and dogs).

Most cats like fat. I think that is what they are wanting. I don't think it's the chocolate or sugar. Especially the Nutella, it has hazelnuts (natural source of fat). My Grover LOVES peanut butter and goes crazy when I open the jar!

He likes chocolate because of the fat content it has.  I have noticed that the higher the cacao content, the less likely they are to want to lick it.  The same with peanut butter.  Read the nutrition information on each one and see the fat content.

Green and Black's Organic Dark 85% -   40g serving   fat 20g  sat fat 12g

Best Choice Peanut Butter -  32g serving  fat16g  sat fat 3.5g

So, as you see, both are half fat.  And the milk chocolate has an even higher ratio of fat.

Just remembered I had a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups stashed in the fridge.  44g serv.  fat12g  sat fat 5g

Most chocalate candy has added fat, like your KitKats, to make it tasty. I mentoined peanut butter because it is very similar to Nutella. Both are ground nuts. Nutella is ground hazelnuts with chocalate added.

Oops, I thought I saw peanut butter on your post. It was another one.   But, my cats love peanut butter.  They don't get very much, just a little taste from the end of my finger.

Thank you, this explains why he gets all sniffy with my candy bars! Yes I push him away and no he doesn’t get any chocolate from me.

I think I will just keep giving the occasional goats milk or Parmesan cheese nibbles.
