My older cat who is now 14 years old was suffering from feline conjuctivitis continuously.  I got an ointment from the vet which did clear it up each time but putting the ointment into his eye was a nightmare.  I did some research and found that feline conjunctivitis is similar to the cold sore virus.  My husband takes one Llysine tablet each day to help with cold sores reappearing frequently.  After a bit more research on dosages etc., I started giving my cat (who is 9.5kg he is a large cat but should really weigh 7.5 kg) one eigth of a teaspoon of crushed human Llysine tablets each morning in his dinner about a year ago.  He has not had a bad eye since.  About two weeks ago I had run out of his Llysine and thought I would see how he goes.  He has just started squinting in the one eye again hence, he is back on the Llysine again.  He was bitten by a brown snake about 7 years ago and so has a few problems but, with his Llysine and a dose of glucosamine each morning in his dinner, his is a much happier cat.

I hope some of you find this helpful
