Rowan hasn't pooped in 4 days!

Hi all,

Rowan is 7.5 weeks now and is a little terror (in a good way!) - he is on wet food and is being weaned from Babalon just fine. Only iss ue is - he hardly ever poops! Last time he did it was the size of a large earthworm, it was huge! And that was 4 days ago. He seems totally fine...energetic, happy, he's eating and drinking. But no poop! Any tips? Should I be concerned?

my vet suggested a little bit of hairball remedy paste on ur finger its full of fiber
 

4 days is a long time without a bowel movement. He may be constipated or it may be more serious. I would be considering a vet visit. You can try a little canned pumpkin to see if it will help if it is constipation.

He pooped about an hour ago. It was clearly difficult for him (he was running around frantically, panting at times before he settled down to do it) but he passed a normal looking stool, if not large due to how long it had been since the last one. We will start putting pumpkin in his food, and try to up his water intake though it's very hard to get him to drink. 

Oh that's good news. It's amazing how happy we pet owners can be to see poop sometimes! Have you tried a pet water fountain? Also try adding extra water to his canned food. Hopefully the pumpkin will help as well although I'm not sure how much to give such a young kitten.
