Silly went to the vet this morning for some dental work.  The vet put her under, scraped the tartar off, pulled two teeth, sewed up the place where a difficult one was, gave her a pain shot, an antibiotic shot that lasts two week, is keeping her overnight for observation and is sending some pain pills with her when I go pick her up in the morning.

Total charge $92   That's right folks, $92

Wow!  I had asked for a price quote on the senior panel bloodwork from my vet and it made me literally cringe.  I'm guessing that is sent away; but it's just so relieving when you can have something done like that for a more affordable price!

No kidding!! Wonderful is just the tip of the iceberg to describe your vet. That is incredible!:clap::clap: Happy to hear that all went well for Silly too. Seriously, that should have costed at least three times more! I had a wonderful vet that I had to leave due to a move. Although, I can't say he ever gave me a break quite as large as that. BUT he did help me often over the phone and would put up meds for me without a charge. :D I surely miss him.

Her standard office visit is $35 plus any meds, lab work, etc. She doesn't charge as much because this is a low-income area.  I think she makes up for it in volume and farm visits for large animals. She has a very devoted clientele.

Wow, that is great! A good and affordable vet is priceless. I paid more than twice that just for anesthesia and cleaning.

Our "normal" bill for a dental is right around $300, give or take. Congratulations on your vet.....she deserves a big
!

The pain meds she sent home with me are onsior.  Does anybody have any experience with them?  Please, no replies of "oh, that is poison"  or the like.

My brother told me that where he lives it could be $1200 to $1300 for the same thing.

I have the same type of vet. She's VERY affordable, gives great care and she is so good with my cats. So gentle, talking baby talk to them. She makes the stressful vet visit less stressful. She is a small town vet and I so hope she never sets her sights on a bigger market. I'm glad you have a wonderful vet also. It really does make a difference when they do what they do for the love of animals and not their bank accounts.

My vet's head of public relations. He loves me because I give him petsies and tell him he is a pretty boy.

Sorry about the quality. It was taken from too close with my cell phone.

That's an incredible price! You wouldn't find anything remotely close around here.
And Mr PR is a super handsome kitty. :D
