If my cat doesn't show any adverse signs of digestive problems when I change cat food, do I have to change in small increments?

My cat started rejecting beef flavor cat food of the brand she currently eats. That only leaves me 2 flavors that are grain-free of the same brand. I thought I'd rotate in some other flavors, but that means a different brand. She's never gotten sick before if I've changed food abruptly, so do I need to slowly introduce the new food? It'd be difficult to slowly introduce since the different brand would only be used once or twice a week.

I believe switching canned food brands/flavors is much less of an issue than switching dry foods. Especially if your cat has not had an issue in the past with switching canned foods, I wouldn't worry about it. My cat for example has no problems with new canned food varieties.

.  Kibble is an entirely different story, but I think you're referring to canned, aren't you?  I'm thinking your only issue may be whether or not your furbaby will LIKE it

My kitties get tons of different brands/flavors of canned food. They never have issues when I add a new one. Dry food changes can cause GI upset.

Thanks for everyone's replies.

Guess that explains why my kitty hasn't had much trouble switching foods.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why wet food doesn't make a difference, but dry food does?
