but a great day to 5 exceptional kittens. 5 weeks ago last Friday my cat had 5 purrrrfect babies. Today they have all found forever hoes and im just a ball of tears. my cat was not absorbing nutrition like she shs should so we worked very hard at weaning them early. and with our vet we started getting them ready for kitten food which they took to like there little lives depended on it....that was 2 and a half weeks ago....by 3 weeks they were eating a half of small canned food 2 times a day EACH and using the litter box. Meaning was fixed and given a medication to help dry her milk. Today at only 5 weeks and 3 days they went to there new forever homes. I could not be prouder of not only the kittens but myself as well. it was hard work bottle feeding 5 babies by myself every two hours and was exhausting as my health is not that great either. I made sure that each kitten went home with a bag of Blue kitten food a litter box and non scoop able litter as well as a beanie babies that I rubbed on meanies scenting glands. I just got a call from one of the ladies that took a little male that her son which is autistic spoke for the first time today....he said KITTY!!! I know I made a good choice with each home to make sure I would want to live there myself before letting them go....and oh I didn't want to let them go anywhere....I wanted to keep them all for myself so keep me in mind and prayers today as I miss my furbabies so much. ill climb off my soapbox now THANX! these pics are of the last two to go....

Oh please keep them for a while longer!  They are much too young to be taken from their mother.  They still need time with her to learn all the important cat stuff.  12 weeks is about the time they should be able to leave their Mom.

I know it was lots of hard work. I used to raise Cocker Spaniel puppies and I never wanted to part with any of them. Congratulations on finding them homes under the stressful conditions. Now we have fingers crossed that all will be well.

I think so too... Though, if they are bottle babies, maybe their mom could not take care of them at all? If so, then there is really only limited benefit as they are essentially orphans. It is good for them to have their siblings, to learn to play gently with each other; but without a mother... if the new owners are willing to take on the challenge of a young kitten, they will do as well there as they would with a mother who does not care for them.

Please do talk to the new owners, explain that the kittens are still very little and only half the age they should be to go to new homes, and that there will be some baby-kitten care to do still as they grow--a small, safe place to grow up in as they find their feet, close to the litter box; good kitten food, maybe some kitten formula to lap from a bowl, and a lot of patience. You could even refer them to TCS. Many of us have raised small kittens and we could advise them, if they had questions. I took care of my first bottle baby when I was nine years old--my first cat, Tiger, who was maybe three weeks old when I adopted her and named her so unimaginatively. I muddled through somehow. I think Tiger taught me more about people than human beings ever did. First I mothered her, then she mothered me!

I had a long talk with the vet before letting them go. they were bottle fed and completely weaned from the mom. when they made her milk dry up she kind of ignored the kittens for the last 3 weeks that they were here. I sent them all to there new homes with Blue kitten food and unscoopable litter. also told each new home what they were facing with some nice print outs that the vet gave me.,,,,,,mileena had a severe deficiency and had to be fixed early and had to stop nursing because she was not absorbing enough....she was basically malnourished even tho I was feeding her right her little frail body just would not suck it in. she is healthy now and no more worries about this happening again

Yeah, that makes sense. Poor babies, but at least they had you to depend on, right?
