well one of my cat was donig so well eating wet food but now all of a sudden they sniff up there nose, i was feeing them evo and blue mostly then i decided to buy some others like merrick and everything they ate a bit of it. but usually my cat loves evo it wasn't on the recall list so no worries. i'm still trying to get my cat to nibble some all she does is lick. could it be the no grains? is it ok to give them with little grains l like felidae?

I feel your pain...

One of my Kitties (Jerry) is notoriously picky.

I'll go to local Pet Stores and buy one of everything that passes my criteria

and let him try them. If he loves them, I buy a case from PFD,

then 80% of the time, he will turn his nose up at it.

Fortunately, the others will usually eat whatever I put in their bowls,

so at least it doesn't go to waste. When the others turn their noses up,

then it goes to the Ferals, who rarely turn down anything canned.

As far as grains or no grains,

I wrote a thread "Losing Faith in Grain Free" or something similar

to discuss that issue, but in a nutshell,

some of my Kitties seem to have developed an allergy to peas or potatoes

(at least one of which is in the vast majority of GF foods.)

Several of us feel that a little whole grain Brown Rice or Barley is no worse for them

(and perhaps even better)  than  peas and potatoes,

so I completely eliminated peas and potatoes and fortunately everyone is doing fine now.

A couple of foods that I feed now in addition to EVO 95%

are California Natural Chicken & Brown Rice,

Before Grain Quail (#5), and Natural Balance ("Chicken & Liver" and "Turkey & Giblets.")

Oh, you might also try "Toppers" on top of the canned food such as a few bonito flakes, a couple of kibbles,

a little diced plain chicken, or Tuna (as a last resort, as it can be addictive, and is not good to feed every day.)

Some folks have had luck with the water that cans of tuna are packed in,

and even Parmesan Cheese!

well sadly i have trieed toppers it worked for my other cat with bonito flakes but now she isn't so happy about them, my other cat hates bonito flakes she. I tried parmason cheese, they aren't fond of chicken well either its raw or cooked they just dont like to touch that stuff. I could try tuna but tuna did a reacation to one of my cat i don'tknow why so i stoppped after that incident even if it was just 1 tuna.

I see...

perhaps canned (or pouch) human grade salmon.

Also, you can get Mackerel in cans at the grocery store...

or sardines?

With any of these fish products, I'd stick to a small amount on top of the food you want them to eat.

Have you tried a few pieces of kibble?

When nothing else works, I'll put a few on Jerry's food and that almost always does the trick.

yes i tried kibble even the bad kibble but no luck =( I probably have to keep searching for the right food that both my cats will eat. I just find it frustrating cause i don't want health problems get cause again. One had bladder infection but now she is doing pretty great so i'm avoiding bad food at all cost. She hasn't had a seizure episode too I think whatever this good food is doing to her is putting her on the right track :). I also give them blue buffalo wilderness dry food I dont' free feed them i stopped doing that.

http://www.chewy.com/cat/felidae-grain-free-pureelements/dp/37199

are one of those goods after reading about the feeding the cat grain stuff i am scared cause of the if they end up with kidney failure i don't know if that is good or not. but if helps with uti i will start buying that. My picky cat HATES wet food apearently even bought 2 junk food fancy feast doesn't like it she use to love it before i was researching on great quality wet food but she hates it :(. Even open up a can of blue she had eaten but now she doesn't like it. My other cat on the other hand that had a bladder infection will eat her wet food so its a good thing she is eating it.

I've had success with crushing treats almost into a powder and sprinkling that on top of the canned food.  I simply drop 2-3 treats into a old treat bag and give it a couple of wacks with the smooth side of a meat tenderizer.

Something to keep in mind (I do this regularly). Ferrel(sp?) cats have an avg lifespan that is less than 4 yrs. While it's true that they don't eat "dry food" during this time, it really doesn't matter what they eat because they're living on borrowed time anyway (death from disease, car, dogs, coyote, etc). The fact that domestic cats can live up to 20 yrs on cheap wet or dry food alone is more of a testiment to the environment in which they live and not necessarily their diet.    So I wouldn't worry too much about the dry vs. canned and just finding something which they'll eat.  Once they're eating regularly then you can worry about what is "better".

well i think i finally got my cat to eat her wet food again but i still have 1 picky cat i have tried sprinkling things on top of the food but still no luck, think she is a cat that is not fond with wet food. she wil probably lick a bit but walk away. I probably shouldn't force my cats to eat what they don't want to as long as its high quality food i'm good. my picky cat at least is drinking her water fountain.

my cat eats blue buffalo dry and my other cat eats evo-sometimes ziwipick for special occasian-blue buffalo i usually buy 3 of those a month  so i can rotate. she is fond of beef evo. I tried making it not soupy but mushy and she ate it really well cause of it. the only thing my cat will eat the picky one is friskies wet food so i probably will buy one a month i don't want her addicted to junk food i probably will give her a tablespoon to get some more moisure in her. but i probably will give up forcing them and just give her table spoon each day morning and night if she wants it she will take it or my other cat will lol :)

I feed my cats the new line of Nutro Natural Choice grain free wet now. I used to feed them the regular Natural Choice wet but they love the new grain free wet food! That said, they do get tired of certain textures and flavors so I'll have to switch it. Sometimes I will buy different premium brands to give them a variety and not all of them are the grain free. The grain free (Natural Choice) contains more protein which I really like for my 4. By all means try different brands to tempt them. Mine a fussy eaters so when they get on the "I don't want it" kick is when I switch brands.

i tend to buy different type just can't afford to whole pack i usually buy a pack on chewy then whatever i find in stores around here i will give them around here, like blue buffalo, oh i aslo gave them tastse of the wild sometimes but my picky eater goes eww at it appearently. I tried precise, solid gold, everytime i go out of town i end up getting me merrick and nutro to try :). i think its just a werid smell to my picky cat it is real meat stuff maybe she isn't use to that smell. but she is eating real meat in her dry food even though there is no moistore.
