I live in Newton MA. I'm moving in 2 weeks. In trying to find good home or homes for my 2 female cats. Both are 10 years old. Great around kids & dogs. It breaks my heart I can't bring them with me . I don't want to see them in a shelter . Thank you for reading my post

I'm leaving a bad relationship suddenly so I didn't have lots of time to find a home. The place I'm going to doesn't allow animals. I tried looking but there's nothing available on short notice .

You may want to get on a radio talk show, or get in the newspaper ads. Ten year old cats are going to be heartbroken to leave you, can't you leave them with someone until you find a proper place to live? I feel for you, you would have to be desperate to leave them behind. My heart is heavy thinking of them, may you find a good solution.

Yes, I understand now.  Ask at the shelter if they know someone who would like to foster 2 older cats.

So very sorry for you and for your two kitties. They must stay together for sure. It will be distressing enough to lose you and I am so sorry your life has taken this turn. I also wonder if there is someone, a family member or friend, who can temporarily take them for you? Or try to find a "foster network" that could take both girls. That way they will be in a home environment as fosters. I do hope something happens for them, something good. That will make it easier for you and on your heart knowing they will be alright. I pray you can find a proper solution. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

i have to agree. Ten yrs for cats with anyone is like close to 40 or 50 for us. They will be super and ultra stressed and deeply traumatized. That said, is there no one -relative, friend ecstatic rescue group, vet who might help, getting recommendations for fosters from rescue groups until you can get back on your feet again and be back with your beloved kitties? Are they a particular or part of a particular breed that might help you find a foster family through a courtesy. I hope you managed ok. Let us know. I am worried about them -wished I lives closer!!!

It just occurred to me. When my sister moved from Acton to NC, a neighbour who used to. Care for them when my si ling was away kept her 3 kitties until she was completely moved in about 2 months later. Do you have ppl who could do that or even share responsibilities?
