Look out with the whities. If you arent very watchful they may easily turn into points. The black ones. or even colored, are much more reliable in this aspect.   :)

How long after birth do points start showing color?

Jokes asides.  If the moms are carriers, and the father is a point, half of the kittens will be pointed (born as white), and the rest - carriers.  Statistically speaking. In a practical litter it may vary a little, plus or minus. Especially if they are 5.

It varies a little, a couple of weeks perhaps.

Well Duchess is a chocolate Tortie point, I don't know about dads. Snow is white with one blue spot on the top of her head, dad was a white an tabby?

Colour starts appearing on the coldest bits first - edge of the ears, nose, tip of tail, feet - and it's usually coming in by a week old.

A white kitten with a blob of colour on the head isn't a colourpoint though.  Cats that end up white all over often have this blob of colour early on and usually it gradually goes.

(read down to Dominant White)

It doesn't always go, and it sounds like that's what Snowbell is.  You could be getting both pointed kittens and dominant white kittens, depending on the mum & dad.

Oh thank you! Snow doesn't really have a blob...more like 4/5 blue hairs lol dad may be a carrier? But he isn't a point. If fact being a green eyed Tabby/white, surprised me not a single kitten had any markings! But back to Duchess lol.

Last one for Duchess, she was HUGE so I was surprised! #5 a female 115g and needed no help! Her owner named her Jewel. The picture looks black and white, and until I saw her dry this morning I thought she was, but she is blue an white.:-D 11 HAPPY BABIES :) 8 All white, 2 Tabbys and 1 Blue/white!

I noticed firstly now this mom is not only a tortie, but also a point.  OK, the thinking is the same but reversed.  She is a point, and it is enough the dad was a carrier.  As you got one colored from beginning, so dad was not a point himself.  Statistically speaking, half of the kittens should be points, the rest carriers.

Lets see what it will become of them points. Not seldom they are some sort of siamese old type look alike.

The point gene, although recessive, is quite strong when in a full pair: it prescribes almost in 100% the outer of the individual kitten.

Thank you, thank you (taking a bow) lol I was scared TO DEATH I'd do it wrong! I had one of my own sons born premature at home and had to do CPR on him while waiting for the ambulance so I just tried to think the same about where the heart was and those tiny lungs. It took only a minute or so but it felt more like 10 lol. Yes queen is a point, I do hope the two whites are points. But I don't know about one of them. Maiden in the pic, looks like she is getting tan blotches like her mummy has on her back. I don't know if you can see them in this picture.

How often does a point have only blue eyed kittens? Even the non points of her last 4 litters had blue eyes. I'm hoping for the same. But I have never heard of that before and didn't believe it till I saw it with my own two peepers! Any info. On that would be Great!!...please:D
