Hi,

I'm 18 and have two cats.

Sophie was a stray we found hanging out in our yard. I've had her for 4-5 years now and think she's around 7 years old.  Me and my family tried finding her home, but no one claimed her. We think she is a Korat. Sophie is a very sweet girl, she loves to sleep and cuddle. Sophie doesn't like cats or dogs, but as long as they respect her space she is fine. Both our dogs have learned to leave her alone. Sophie's previous owners declawed her.

My newest addition is Scout a medium haired orange Tabby. I got Scout from the pound 6 weeks ago. Scout has some behavioral issues, but when he's not biting me or attacking poor Sophie he's a sweet boy. Scout loves to play and when he wants you to pet him he pats your hand with his paw. When we first got him he would hiss every time he saw one of our dogs, but now he's okay with them unless he feels trapped or vulnerable.

I also have 2 dogs, a parakeet, and a turtle.

Welcome Danielle Maria, Sophie, and Scout!  I once co-fostered a cat named Scout.  And thank you for adopting cats from the pound.

Here is a link to a number of articles about different behavioral issues.  Depending on how old Scout is, it may be kittenish behavior or behavior resulting from being removed from his mother too soon (due to death or other issues).

Feel free to post specific questions in the Behavior forum.
